GM Design Wonders Aloud If Development of C9 Corvette Could Be Underway

From 2014 through 2019, the C7 Chevy Corvette didn't have as long a run as some 'Vette's did, but was well-remembered for good reason. Last year when the C8 arrived at the glee of the general public and car enthusiasts worldwide, completely astonished onlookers in a California hangar witnessed an earnest dose of mid-engined and mechanical mastery. Everyone here at Jim Butler of St Louis have always wondered if Chevy designers could already be hard at work laying the foundation for ideas that pave the way for an amazing automotive sequel.

General Motors Design posted a sketch on Instagram over the past week that could be a rendering of what an early C9 concept could appear like. It's highly possible that it could also be an early draft of the C8, but we do not think our beloved bowtie brand will return to front-engine design. The side air vents look a bit similar to what's in place on today's Vette, and a built-in rear spoiler and front fenders are a bit more prominent than what is found on the C8. There are other questions about whether or not the C9 could be all-electric, which is a possibility since the hybrid version of the C8 is due to arrive within the next few years.

A 1,000-horsepower 'Vette known as “Zora” with all-wheel drive and several electric motors is also in the works, and since GM has recently pledged to pursue an electrified future with other prominent vehicles such as the GMC Hummer EV, the Corvette may definitely fall under the clean-power guise as well. Since Chevy already called it quits to the longstanding tradition of a front-engine design, getting rid of traditional combustion means of power may be what's in store next.

The Current 2021 C8 has snagged up a 10Best award for 2021, as its two-seat cabin is spacious and the performance has been deemed worldwide as spectacular. The Z51 package provides stunning capability on the track, and any Corvette can now also be ordered with a new gray-and-yellow interior color scheme and Full-Length Dual Racing Stripe package with stripes in blue, orange, red, or yellow. The astonishing  6.2-liter V8 cranks out 490 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, with the Z51 package's dual-mode performance exhaust adding 5 more hp to the mix. The current C8 boasts a zero-to-60 mph time of 2.8-seconds, and has also been commended for its interior design that delivers a driver-focused concept appropriate for such a defined and dominating performance model!

Higher-Performance Power as Holiday-Ready Protocol: 2021 Blazer Receives 2.0-Liter Turbo Engine As Standard

The latest 2021 Chevy Blazer celebrates its arrival as the third year for the all-new crossover, and has seen some feature updates that are sure to see all of our customers here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis brimming with holiday curiosity! One of the major changes is with the power source, which will now see the turbocharged 2.0-Liter I4 LSY gas unit offered as standard. Front-wheel drive is now standard on the top-of-the-line Premier trim, and AWD is available with either the V6 LGX or this newly-introduced engine.

This new Inline-four produces 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Higher fuel economy ratings are sure to instill a sense of New Year's Cheer as the incoming Blazer model will see 22 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined when equipped with front-wheel-drive. There are also some awesome new colors to pick from in the coming Blazer's lineup: Iron Gray, Pewter Metallic, Cayenne Orange, and Cherry Red Tintcoat are some of the options to dashingly deck out the exterior.

Whether you are dealing with holiday-prone snow or the well-groomed roads of summer, the 2021 Chevy Blazer also now gains new safety features for protection through the Chevy Safety Assist Package. This long-awaited crossover that Car And Driver claimed is “perfectly sporty, engaging, and without even slight compromise” also received praise for the 2LT trim level, which can tow 4500 pounds when equipped with the trailering package. The four-cylinder models can tow up to 1500 pounds, and this has been deemed by many other auto experts as the most responsive and confident crossover in the entire segment.

During two recent test drives in the hilly outskirts of LA, the Blazer was quick to respond and confident on the twisty sections of road, and the four-cylinder engine provided more might off the line than a slew of competitors. The 18-inch wheels provided a very smooth and quiet ride and displayed a fluid characteristic at lower speeds. The RS model came to a stop during braking testing a 165 feet from 70 mph, and getting up to that speed is certain to  be an outright blast in this design that draws inspiration from the legendary and track-poised pony in the form of the Camaro.

Other great features such as ambient interior lighting and heated and ventilated front seats are a welcome addition, as well as 31 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 64 cubic feet with the seats folded. Each Blazer comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, and can also be upgraded to be equipped with a Wi-Fi hotspot, 8-speaker premium Bose sound system, built-in navigation, and wireless charging. Key safety features to assure that you are arriving to deck the halls with all of your health and vigor are forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.

2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Illuminate With Holiday Cheer As Chosen Ones For Consumer Guide “Best Buy” Award

The Consumer Guide Best Buy Awards honed in this holiday season on informing customers about first-rate vehicles that provide the best driving experience out there while still ranking at the top in value factor. During the time of year when monthly expenses are closely scrutinized as we want our loved ones to have the best holidays possible, being a leading-class bargain is the first objective for a Best Buy Award winner. The 2021 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 Chevy Suburban both received awards this year in the “Large SUV” category.

Making excellent strides in ride quality, all-around refinement, and passenger comfort were the qualities that stood out for both of these heavy-duty holiday haulers, and these T1-based SUVS were praised for how easy they were to drive. Test-driving either one of the two here at  Jim Butler Chevy of St. Louis allows you to fully check out their new redesign, with additions such as independent rear suspension and an available Duramax 3.0-Liter Inline-SIx diesel engine. A ten-inch infotainment screen, available 15-inch head-up display, and available rear-seat entertainment system are other technology features that now enjoy their first appearance.

When equipped with the new Duramax turbo-diesel 3.0-Liter LM2 inline-six engine and Max Trailering Package, the rear-wheel-drive Tahoe now lays the claim to an 8,200-pound towing capacity and a maximum payload of 1,717 pounds. Once inside you'll notice much more interior room, spacious second and third rows, and the high-mounted push-button shifter. The new rear suspension opens up the cargo area and third-row seating, and the Tahoe remains your best choice for a trademark-smooth ride and a familiar platform that instantly makes you feel at home. One of the most practical features Chevy has ever devised fits perfectly on the Tahoe: check out the power-retractable running boards that pop out right when you open the door.

The
2021 Suburban also rings in this season of gift-giving and merriment by being billed as the “most fuel-efficient four-wheel-drive full-size SUV in the market” courtesy of Motor Trend. It handles on the freeway and through corners amazingly well even with the large-sized 22-inch wheels and boasts a towing ability of up to 8,000 pounds with the rear-wheel drive. Getting from 0 to 60 in 8,5 seconds and bursting through the quarter-mile mark in just 16.6 seconds, agility and speed are still strong points while carrying so much mass. With a well-documented and colorful history spanning 85 years, the Suburban lays claim to the longest-running nameplate in existence.

When our valued customers inquire as to what choice is best for them, the value proposition is nearly always at the top of their list. We know that spending an exorbitant amount of money gives you a lavish set of features, but still strive to provide as much minus the hefty cost! We hope that this holiday season is a special and celebrated one for you and yours and that driving away happily covered under Chevy's stellar warranty is how you ring in the New Year.

All-New 2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Packages Feature New Multilink Suspension, Large-Sized Luster

2021 Chevy Suburban and Tahoe

The 2021 Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban have both seen a complete re-engineering and redesign, as they welcome the new year with their fifth and twelfth generations respectively. Availability of various trim levels and other options have undergone some changes, but as GM Authority reported last week, all trims and packages are available to order. Units of both types that are ordered during the final phase of production are set to roll off the line at GM's plant in Arlington, Texas next month, and all units equipped with the brand-new 3.0-Liter I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine option will begin the production phase during November.

During the second phase, packages for LS, LT, Z71, and RST trim levels will see completion, as well as the addition of Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and the Power-Sliding Console. Both the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 Chevy Suburban still ride on the new GM T1 platform and come with the benefit of the independent multilink rear suspension setup. This function incorporates three lateral and one vertical bars to limit the degree of axle's freedom to provide an optimally smooth ride.

The 2021 Tahoe's third row and cargo area have grown, and it offers two V8s and an efficient diesel option. The Car and Driver staff recommended the flashy RST and Z71 models for the best value, and highly complimented the Z71 for its rugged appearance, four-wheel-drive as standard, and added equipment to prepare it for off-road adventures. Make sure to check out the Z71 Signature package here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis, which includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, a heated steering wheel and second-row seats, memory settings, a panoramic sunroof, and upgraded towing equipment. While the 3.0-Liter six-cylinder engine has the least horsepower of the Tahoe's powertrains, its 460 lb-ft of torque is identical to what's offered with the V8.

The 2021 Suburban features a 4.1-inch longer wheelbase, a bit smaller 5.3-Liter 335-horsepower V8 if you desire, and 144 cubic feet of very useful cargo space with the rear seats folded. With it configured as a 4-seater the amount of what you can haul is impressive, and two separate test drivers that were given the 5.3-Liter V8 for a day out claimed that the massive power was instantly gratifying when taking into consideration the sheer size of the Suburban. That particular test drive also rendered the transmission as the “best they'd ever driven” in conjunction with the fabulous powertrain.

Filling the shoes of about the most ideal vehicle anyone could think of for getting a large family around, there is still plenty to appreciate about the new Suburban that is not all due to its large frame. The climate controls along with the electronic shifter are very easy-to-use and possess lightening-fast response. Another great feature on long trips is the 10.2-inch display, which is now standard on every model. The Premier trim is the way to go if you are searching for an added assortment of technical aids for the well-prepped holiday journey: it provides blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, frontal parking sensors, and lane-keeping assist.

2021 Chevy Corvette Is Rich With Holiday Cheer, Now Running Ahead of Schedule

Completed production of the new Chevy Corvette C8 has been slightly on the rocky side since last year, as unforeseen events shut down facilities and had an effect on many deadlines for the worse. We have received some recent reports here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis that the Corvette Action Center has stabilized production, with two shifts operating full speed to churn out 186 cars per day on average, seeing higher results than last month.

Production of the 2021 model has been moved up significantly, and is now slated to begin December 8. This is nearly a month earlier than expected, and there is a chance that the 2020 and 2021 models may be produced side-by-side completing a lofty 20,000-unit production target for the outgoing model year. One good sign is that there is now a new configurator in place for the 2021 Corvette, allowing users to piece together their dream model. There will be two new exterior colors in the lineup, as well as new stripe options. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new interior color scheme, and magnetorheological dampers are now available as a standalone option.

Those who put in orders for the 2021 model may be able to get them out on the pavement a bit earlier than expected, and in some cases maybe even before Christmas. This news should be enough to keep fans of the new C8 perked-up on holiday cheer and present itself as a gift well worth waiting for. As your mind also drifts to mistletoe and stocking stuffers, horsepower and torque will also be taking front and center: the Corvette heftily earned a “10Best” award for 2020, and the 2021 model offers up the same stellar performance, the burly 490-horsepower V8, and an affordable entry-level price.

Multiple reviews of the C8 have given praise to Chevy's engineers for making the ride appropriate for daily commuting, yet set to absolutely blaze on the track courtesy of the Z51 Package. This addition provides the goodies of an electronic limited-slip rear differential, more aggressive brakes, and summer tires. New for 2021 are also the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, added options for the digital gauge display, and the Buckle-to-Drive safety feature that prevents the transmission from leaving “park” until the seat belt has been buckled. The engine remains as the sinister and stately 6.2-liter V8, which makes 490 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

Everything included in this long-awaited car is so far above and beyond ordinary: the driver sits behind a squared-off steering wheel and a 12.0-inch reconfigurable gauge display, with a quick glance providing a straight sightline to the touchscreen. Choosing the upgrade to the 3LT package adds striking carbon-fiber trim as well as sewn leather on most of the surfaces. Reaching 60 MPH in under three seconds and boasting a top speed of 194 mph, the incoming Corvette is a modern marvel of mid-engine-placed engineering, allowing for a driver-focused and “flat out astonishing for the money” value!

Reborn Custom Hot Rods Will Source Eco-Friendly Power Via Electric Crate Motors

The annual SEMA show is a great place to check out the latest innovations in the automotive world, and see just how many cool ways to modify cars are coming right around the corner. More and more classic cars are seeing the ability to be powered by electric propulsion, and aftermarket shops have jumped in putting forth an effort to the task. Zelectric out of San Diego has been converting air-cooled German classics to electric power for some time now, and Jaguar completed an electric powertrain for the E-Type.

Here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis, we have watched intently as a restored farm truck featuring our bowtie logo was on display at SEMA as well as the eCopo Camaro, which was built on an 800V architecture and a pair of motors to deliver 737 horsepower to the rear wheels. Another one of the models that Chevy will have on hand at SEMA's virtual presentation this year is a 1977 K5 Blazer known as the Blazer-E that officially previews the company's new eCrate aftermarket powertrain.

The existing 6.6-Liter V8 was swapped out for the 200-horsepower engine from the Bolt EV, which then connects to the Blazer's four-wheel-drive system with a 4-speed auto taking over for the three-speed transmission. Both the exhaust and fuel tank were ditched as well, replaced by a 60kWh lithium-ion battery pack mounted in the cargo area's free space. Chevy has now made the official statement on Arstechnica.com that we will now produce an electric crate powertrain to the aftermarket in the same fashion as crate internal combustion engines. As soon as the E-10 concept was introduced last year, the phone started ringing with many wanting to start their own unique EV projects as soon as possible.

The release and prominent display of the K5 Blazer's abilities demonstrate what can be possible for customers who are seeking to convert a vintage vehicle to a daily driver with the quality of torque and driving an EV provides. When extreme performance is sought after, the modular eCrate system will have many various applications to choose from. The Electric Connect and Cruise package goes on sale during the second half of next year and features a bolt EV motor, battery pack, DC-to-AC inverter, a DC-to-DC converter, wiring harness, controllers, and water pumps for essential heating and cooling.

There will also be a certification program available for those who want to become experts in installation, courtesy of the Corvette builders at Lingenfelter Performance Engineering in Michigan. For those who aren't fully satisfied with 200 Horsepower, Chevy has already officially claimed that Ultrium battery packs could underpin a much wider ranger of BEVs for our brands. For a larger pickup or SUV, pouches that are vertically arranged are best for the dense energy in demand. It will be exhilarating to see the homebrew hotrods that people will cook up with this new development!

Mid October's Coming-Soon Briefing: 2022 Chevy Silverado's Interior Updates Revealed Via New Spy Shots

All car and truck manufacturers have a common interest in building a certain level of suspense for models coming in the future, and spy shots with a majority of the dead giveaways covered up are still the primary means of an official sneak peek. It is always thrilling for us here at Jim Butler Chevy of St. Louis when these detailed spy shots are released. This past week the staff at Autoblog.com managed to catch a quick peek at the long-awaited interior of the 2022 Chevy Silverado.

The prototype was spotted with its cabin surfaces under the typical covering of heavy camouflage, but the shots offered up were still able to capture the screen of the truck beneath the vinyl and also clearly show that the cabin will now see a significant upgrade. The addition of the useful and semi-self-driving Super Cruise technology will be one of the new features of the 2022 Silverado, as the sure-fire clue in question was the sighting of the illuminated green strip at the top cent of the steering wheel.

There also appears to be a full digital cluster and significantly larger infotainment screen, and our beloved bowtie brand has listened to numerous customers as they claimed that they wanted a bit more of an extravagant touch inside the truck's cabin. The spotted prototype brandished High Country wheels and chrome window trim. It also appears that there will be some new exterior styling updates in the vein of new lighting elements as well as front and rear bumpers. Other new items we anticipate take their "cues and clues" from the 2021 Suburban, such as 10-inch tablet-like touchscreens, and roomier cabins.

Since so many truck owners love to use their vehicles as family vehicles too, it wouldn't be too far out of line to see add-ons like a rear-seat entertainment system with dual 12.6-inch displays and a 15-inch Heads-Up Display in the front. The integrated BedStep from the 2020 model year is likely to be included, and several future Silverado HD models have been spied with cut-lines on the tailgate identical to those on the MultiPro tailgate. The Multi-Flex could feature a few distinct improvements over the MultiPro, such as a brand-new seventh position. Many diehard truck lovers have also been excited about the brand new ZR2 Package that transforms this full-size light-duty pickup into a very trusty and poised boulder-climbing machine.

Rumors have also been circulating about a hybrid powertrain for the Silverado, which could lead to an even more intensely modified platform. The exterior would then be constructed of aluminum to go easy on the final cost, as well as weight. The front end's character is expected to be dominated by the large mesh grille, and the chiseled hood is trimmed with chrome. We will keep you posted here about any other tidbits that come our way regarding the 2022 Silverado, America's hardest-working and most durable truck choice!

Setting Peak Performance: A Snap With 2020 Chevy Corvette “Z Mode” Button

When the brand-new mid-engined Corvette was released last year, many loyal patrons here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis expressed to us just how amazed they were after witnessing its massive performance and spectacular new look. The entire driving experience is now completely different, and everything the skilled engineers dreamed about while looking over multiple concepts finally materialized in a large airplane hangar in sunny California during the reveal. The staff on hand at Cars.com recently cranked out an engaging feature about the new silver-colored button sporting the letter “Z”, which has made an appearance in various other high-powered versions of the 'Vette.

Also seeing placement in the high-powered ZR1 and Z06, this button is its own form of homage to the beautiful Corvette's illustrated history and amazing development. Selecting the Z Mode allows drivers to instantly engage the vehicle with their preferred performance settings gleaned from hours doing laps around their favorite spot. The Weather, Tour, Sport, and Track modes are selected with a knob on the center console, and the Z mode is poised conveniently right on the steering wheel.

This feature offers complete control of the powertrain by taking charge of the gas pedal, engine response, and transmission. There was a well-honed focus on speed for the making and development of this model, and with the optional Z51 Performance Pack and launch control it clocks in at 2.9 seconds to get up to 60 mph. The first-ever 8-speed dual-clutch transmission is the sole offering for the 2020 Corvette, and it has delivered massively in terms of living up to its massive hype. Blisteringly-fast timed laps at Grattan Raceway in Michigan confirmed that the handling advantage over the front-engine predecessor is easily proven when put to the test.

Where this car succeeds is the special place in which the mid-engined development meets the longstanding personality of the Corvette. With a hefty percentage of its overall mass over the rear tires, the previous C7 was working with a roughly 50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution, and the C8 boasts an exhilarating property of ferocious power off the line. With the help of the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic and an expertly-calibrated launch-control system, the C8 boasted 2.8-second zero to 60 bragging rites.

If you have a burning desire to accomplish breakneck speed on any stretch of nearby concrete, this is the car to do the job with a very intense grip on the pavement, displaying every trait of a model built specifically for high speed and precise handling. It instantly feels better the faster you drive, with a V8 engine that has been said to deliver the goods as soundly as any NASCAR-ready contender would. The critics that have put the brand-new C8 to the test all claim that this is the best-equipped car out there to take demanding corners without fatigue, and still handles the daily drive with a quiet and comfortable demeanor.

Summing Up an Abundance of Space: The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer Cargo Management System

The small crossover segment is one that we have been watching explode in popularity here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis, as so many are searching for a vehicle that is compact, practical, and economical. Fresh and well-honed for a new year's release, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer slots perfectly between the Trax and the Equinox within our current lineup. Customers frequently ask us about the issue of space and are curious about how much will be inside to accommodate their daily to-do list.

The Trailblazer's very unique Cargo Management System was the featured topic of a video on GM Authority displaying its multiple features. It allows customers to fit multiple different carry-on items into the cabin space, and the rear bench comes equipped with a 40/60 fold-down split. When coupled up with the available fold-flat front seat, it allows items up to eight-and-a-half feet to fit inside the cabin. As seen in the video, you could even fit gear like a kayak straight through the hatch, rendering you ready for all types of outdoor action and activity.

The 2021 Trailblazer also comes with a two-level load floor, which can be customized in detail and prevents items from sliding around during the drive. The rear load floor can easily flip over, yielding a hard surface that is dirt and stain-resistant for simple clean-up. With the rear seats up, the Trailblazer boasts 25.3 cubic feet of cargo room, and once down that number rises to 54.4 cubic feet. The management system is built using high-density polyethylene construction with a treated steel subframe, and aluminum and stainless steel hardware. Achieving a custom fit requires no drilling or modification of the truck bed, and includes GM-exclusive 1 D-Box and 2 dividers.

The all-new Trailblazer offers six trims, each now refined to help you find your optimum blend of eye-catching design and premium comfort. From the top-of-the-line luxury essence of the High Country to the street-themed feel of the RST, each offers its own unique character and potential. The Premier trim offers Magnetic Ride Control, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, and Front and Rear Park Assist as well as standard Bose Audio system with 10-speaker surround sound.

Choosing the Z71 trim provides red tow hooks and a skid plate, 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, and available four-corner air ride adaptive suspension. This cabin has been ranked as superb at the job of keeping out annoying wind and traffic noise during the ride. The panoramic sunroof, as well as automatic climate control, are both huge bonuses for visual and temperate comfort during long trips, which you'll be excited to take frequently in this spacious and pleasant to drive crossover!

C8 Corvette Hybrid Option Reportedly In the Works For 3-Year Arrival Plan

The arrival of the C8 mid-engine Corvette was such a monumental event last year that scores of auto fans are still reeling from the mark it made on the present and future of the industry! The 2020 model was certainly a drastic departure from any 'Vette that existed previously because it abandoned the front-engined layout and dropped the power source right in the middle. This had been a on the list for engineers for nearly 50 years, and now the time had finally come to unleash the goods for the general public to enjoy.

Engineers are dutifully combining their efforts for the task of improving the car even more, and a new report directly from GM claims that the Corvette will soon see an all-wheel-drive option during the 2023 or 2024 model year. There were already numerous hints regarding this during the car's launch when engineers were asked if the C8 had the ability to accommodate a hybrid AWD system. These documents in the report do suggest that this option will soon be available for models in the years to come.

Within them is a reference to the feature as “eAWD”, and they depict future availability for both the Stingray Coupe and convertible models. Instead of the traditional means of sending power from the V8 engine to the front wheels through a differential, the Corvette's eAWD system will most likely forego the front trunk to make necessary room for an electric motor. Independently driven front wheels would be driven separately without the V8's power, paving the way for torque vectoring. Yet other rumors claim that Chevy could be hard at work for development stages of an EV version called the E-Ray, which may very well be the 200 mph electric Corvette mentioned by a few of the current political candidates.

This revolutionary and exciting eAWD system may also see placement into high-performance models such as the upcoming C8 ZR1, ushering in a cleaner power source of the future for even more autos in the very-high-octane club. While we are still in suspense and waiting to see just what exactly the blueprint for electrification will bring, the 2021 Stingray has added wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new options for the digital gauge display, and the “Buckle-to-Drive” safety feature.

For the current model, choosing to upgrade to the 2LT version adds a head-up display, a wireless smartphone charging pad, heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, 14-speaker Bose stereo system, and blind-spot monitoring. The Z51 option adds more aggressive brakes, summer tires, and electronic limited-slip differential. Even in its base form, the Corvette delivers thrilling performance on both road and track, and handling that has all of us here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis beaming with pride and heart-pounding anticipation for every drive!

2021 Chevy Trailblazer Offers "Undeniable Style, Competitive Price, Loads-of-Fun Driving Personality"

It seems like just a few years ago it was hard to come by a vehicle that had a preferred sense of style, day-to-day functionality, amazing technological features and a satisfyingly low price. As soon as the crossover SUV category roared to life, there were some not-so-good renditions and some that nailed the bullseye right off the bat. One of our vehicles here at Jim Butler Chevy of St. Louis that just keeps getting better is the Trailblazer, and the 2021 model has been met with massive praise while living up to its previous potential.

The Trailblazer sees its spot right in between the Trax and the larger, family-oriented Equinox. Leaving the showroom as the original model in 2009, the Trailblazer was then a mid-size, body-on-frame, very traditional rear-wheel-drive SUV. The all-new 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is a much smaller, front-wheel-drive number that does battle with competitors such as the Kia Seltos, Mazda CX-30, Honda HR-V, Jeep Renegade, Toyota CH-R and Nissan Rogue Sport.

In the looks department everything is satisfyingly above par, with a floating roof panel, slim headlights, and cladding on the wheels taking cues from other great SUVs in the running. The RS trim is the best choice for those looking for a sporty and aggressive vibe, boasting blacked-out trim and dual exhaust outlets with rectangular chrome tips. The Activ trim is geared towards those who are getting ready to conquer the wilderness off-road and was the one that the testing staff from Cars.com eagerly got their hands on first to "write home" about. It features uniquely fine-tuned shocks made for rougher roads, heightened ground clearance, shielded underbody and sport-terrain 17-inch all-season tires.

Lurching off-road to explore, camp and climb has become more popular than ever, and customers have been excited to see that the Trailblazer is prepared to go the distance. The testing team then ranked the Activ trim as excellent for its quick steering response, well-dampened ride, and peppy engine. The choices for said engine power are a 1.2-liter, making 127 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque if you want front-wheel-drive, or a 1.3-liter cranking out 155 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque if you opt for all-wheel drive. The body control and chassis dynamics both were ranked as stellar, and rapid transitions on twisty roads proved to be executed simply.

During extensive testing, the braking was determined to be a high-quality trait: they proved to be firm and very strong, without being aggressive or overly grippy. There is ample legroom for those in both the front and back seat, with plenty of knee room to spare. The new Mazda CX-30 does not rank nearly as well in this category, and the Trailblazer also has all of the latest electronic goodies such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on some trim levels, as well as a 7-inch touchscreen with an available one-inch upgrade. Now offered as standard equipment are forward automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian detection, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, forward collision alert, follow distance indicator, and automatic high-beam headlamps.

2022 Corvette Z06 Continues Tradition of Precision Design, Raw Power, and Aerodynamic Control

Last year one of the most memorable stirs in the global automotive community was caused by the release of the 2021 Corvette C8. It was a truly dazzling piece of engineering from Chevy and continued a long tradition of precision design and high-octane thrills on the tracks and beckoning back roads everywhere. Through careful analysis of spy shots, leaks, and insider sources, the emerging profile and future of the Z06 is revealed. A C8 Z06 has been unofficially announced in various circles to be released sometime in 2021 for the 2022 model year.

This new 'Vette is expected to feature a flat-plane crank engine similar to what is found in the track-only C8 race car. Chassis and suspension upgrades are sure to be added to join mechanical forces with the increased power and assisting with making every dip and dent in the road less noticeable to the driver. The release of the very innovative 2021 Corvette shocked the world with its very driver-focused cabin and meticulous design, brandishing the 6.2-liter V8 LT2 as the standard engine. Featuring direct injection, variable valve timing, and active fuel management, it was a charismatic and punch component of a design that amazed and thrilled many.

The Z06 is expected to see a new engine as a power source, with many betting on the 5.5-liter V8 that cranks out between 600-800 horsepower and around 700 lb-ft of torque. Many web sources and car experts out there note that the incoming Z06 will use an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, identical to what is hard at work in the 2021 C8. In videos of the 2022 Z06 blasting around happily outside of the Detroit testing grounds, the exhaust note is much like the C8, with just a slightly tamer quality. It has been compared to that of the Ferrari 458, which also derives power from a flat-plane crank engine.

A very aggressive wing is said to be a standard feature, and would make sense considering its track-oriented design. Others argue that they are positive a spoiler will be offered instead, and both convertible, as well as hardtop versions of Z06 prototypes, have been spotted, a clear indicator that both styles will be available. The Z06 is also on track to include the revolutionary Performance Data Recorder, which allows you to take note of more than 34 performance statistics, and record detailed video of every single drive.

Heated seats, wireless charging, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are on deck to be included as well, as well as the choice of a 10 or 15-speaker premium Bose audio system to dictate the best in decibel-high driving tunes. A concept sketch of the coming interior was released last year, depicting a Stingray-like interior sporting sleek lines and a squared-off steering wheel, hinting towards its potential for pure thunder on the track. We will keep you up-to-speed here on the Jim Butler Chevy of St. Louis blog about arrival dates and other particulars, and are excited to share with everyone just how potent and revolutionary the new Z06 will be!

2021 Chevy Tahoe Boasts "Composure Over Any Surface, Newfound Spaciousness"

The 2021 Chevy Tahoe marks the first time the full-size SUV has been fully redesigned since 2015, and all of us here at Jim Butler Chevy of St. Louis believe it's an excellent part of the plan to stay competitive and lean against the sworn arch rival found in the form of the Ford Expedition! After time spent with a lengthy drive of a production Z71 example, seasoned writer Joel Stocksdale found it to be an excellently-packaged SUV with greatly improved interior and a variety of engine choices.

The standard engine is the 5.3-Liter V8 cranking out 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque and is seen on all trims except the High Country, which receives the powerful 6.2-liter V8 making 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come with Dynamic Fuel Management cylinder deactivation, expertly engineered to shut off any cylinder needed instead of an entire set bank. The two engines now are paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and later a class-exclusive diesel 3.0-liter inline-six engine will be available with the 10-speed automatic. The 5.3-Liter engine proved to be smooth and quiet, and switching to Sport Mode firms up the suspension perfectly to ease the ride over bumps.

By using the air suspension, the driver is also able to lower or raise the Tahoe by two inches, aiding with ground clearance. Inside, the interior has been completely remade, and the rounded shape of the main dash features an elegant touch that is wrapped in simulated leather on higher trims. The controls are easy to access and use, and the 10-inch standard touchscreen is responsive and simple to reach. You can also opt for a wide variety of helpful trailering cameras, dual 12.6-inch second-row monitors, and upgrade to a 15-inch heads-up display. These rear screens also can quickly connect with the navigation system so rear passengers can help with destination searches.

The true highlight of the Tahoe's cabin is its new spaciousness, after gaining an extra 6.7 inches in length, wheelbase stretched by 4.9 inches, and the switch to an independent suspension that allows lowering of the floor. It's simple to find a comfortable space up front, with an abundance of head and legroom, as well as plenty of adjustability in the seat and wheel. A 5-ft-11" tall passenger was poised in the second row with plenty of room to spare, and the third row boasts as much legroom as the bigger Suburban.

Cargo space also sees a boost in the new model, with 25.5 cubic feet behind the third row. The outgoing model just had 15.3 cubic feet here, and with all seats folded, space expands from 94.7 cubic feet to 122.9. Maximum towing capacity remains the same at 8,400 pounds, and for those eager to get off-road as soon as possible, the Tahoe Z71 sports all-terrain tires, a limited-slip differential, skid plates, and unique front bumper for an improved approach.

Carscoops Wonders Aloud: Does This Recent C8 Pace Car Blaze The Path for Coming 2021 Corvette Stingray R?

During a year that has seen some strange changes and circumstances, there has still been some “good news” to get excited about such as this tidbit from Carscoops regarding cars coming soon! Earlier this month, Corvette racing saw the unveiling of a specialized pace car that will enthusiastically lead the pack at the IMSA GTLM Championship round during Road America. As the days of summer proceeded, a bit more unexpected news came out regarding this pace car. In March, leaked information was able to shed some light on dealerships about the 2021 Corvette making mention of a “Stingray R” theme package for new mid-engined marvel.

At the time not much was known at all about the appearance and features on the model, but the Stingray pace car may have actually been sporting the graphics package. The staff of Motor1 claimed that the white 2021 Corvette Stingray pace car has a racing stripe running down the hood and over the roof, and an aero package that boasts a new front splitter and side skirts. The splitter, rear wing endplates, wing mirror, and side skirts all have red accents, attempting to closely imitate the look of the blisteringly fast C8.R race car.

What really gives away the future intentions and potential for the model is that the Corvette pace car has a “Stingray R” sticker right on the front splitter, noticed when we spotted the new two small LED lights in the front grille. At this time what will be new on the model will most likely be visual modifications instead of performance changes, but we will keep you up-to-date on any changes and news leaks in the future. With perfectly aggressive lines and what all of us here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis consider the nicest interior on a 'Vette ever, the C8 roared onto the scene with a bang, making its debut last summer in a large California airline hangar.

According to other recent reports, a copy of the 2021 Chevy Corvette Order Guide summary was leaked online, illustrating in detail the changes expected for the next model year. Some of these changes do include new racing stripe options and exterior colors, and this particular leaked guide also sees mention of a “Stingray R” theme graphics and wheel cap” package. This also leads us to believe that a new package could fall in line with the Z06 C7.R Edition available on the previous years' model.

The current C8 is covered in Silver Flare paint and is available with yellow racing stripes, yellow accents, and red side view mirrors. The large rear spoiler also brandishes red endplates, while a graphic that reads “C8.R” is situated just in front of the rear wheels. These few additives also look like plausible items included on the 2021 production Stingray with a brand-new package.

The Nation's Best-Selling Full-Size SUV Blows Out Birthday Candles: Chevy Tahoe's 25th Year on The Road

When it very first hit the automotive scene in 1995, the Tahoe offered the precise maneuverability of a short-wheelbase truck while also having four-door practicality. It boasted the multi-purpose family vehicle angle, the versatility to tow a trailer, go off-road, and offer comfort on long trips. As all of us here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis are celebrating its 25th year on the road, we are taking a minute to reflect here on the blog this week all of the great features it has and how many customers it has left satisfied!

This is a vehicle that has seen consistent honors for durability, reliability, and customer experience. Just recently it enjoyed honors in the J.D. Power 2019 initial Quality Study and the 2018 Kelley Blue Book's 5-year Cost to Own Awards. It is so well-liked that it accounts for nearly one of every four full-size SUVs sold in the U.S., and when grouped with the Suburban, the Chevy brand accounts for 45 percent of the full-size SUV segment, which doubles the results of our closest competitor.

Law enforcement and government agencies have always needed vehicles that are rugged, durable, and reliable, and the Tahoe has delivered just that for years. The fully-equipped Tahoe PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle) features modifications to the suspension and control to handle high-speed driving and rapid stops, elements you may encounter when trying to pursue any suspect. There is also a high output alternator and an auxiliary battery, which help provide vital power for laptops and pursuit lights.

Many who have purchased and enjoyed the Tahoe claim that it resonated so well with them because they loved the new technology that was added to each year's model, and performance, as well as capability, were improved annually as well to meet the customer's frequently changing needs. Every single Tahoe produced in Arlington, Texas makes use of globally-sourced parts, and all eyes were on the incoming model when it made its debut in Detroit in the stadium that the Detroit Red Wings Hockey team and Detroit Pistons call home.

It shows a group of friends arriving home after spending a fun day at the lake, and two of the passengers make their way for the third-row bench seat and hit the available power-release second-row seats to gain easier access to the back. The video also takes a close-up look at the comfort slide second-row, which provides even more room for passengers seated in the rear. Chevy Confirms Future Release of an Electric Full-Size Pickup With 400-mile Range

Here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis during this exciting and sizzling time of year, we are happy to help customers who have their sights set on the next year's coming models, and go over all of the features and additions that are coming soon. In the very near future, one of the biggest changes ever is now officially slated to take place: GM has now confirmed that one of the 20 electric cars it does plan to release by 2023 will be a full-size Chevy pickup, and it was announced in the 179-page 2019 sustainability report published this month.

It was announced that this still-unnamed pickup will boast over 400 miles of driving range on a charge, but there was not much additional details given. It could be engineered to be a greener choice to the Silverado, or it could be on its own as a completely new vein of Eco-friendly offerings. Chevy had made the proud commitment to roll out a large number of EV's by the mid 2020s a few years back, setting sights on full electrification by 2030.

Earlier this year, the official announcement was made that there will now be a $2.2 billion investment geared towards transforming the Detroit-Hamtramck facility into the first assembly plant that is completely devoted to electrification. In a section of a recent report that was highlighting the company's EV plans, it was noted that the “success of the 2020 Chevy Bolt EV” was part of the inspiration for the BET truck, and 400 miles of range means the daily commute Is all well and taken care of.

The average worker sees about 20 miles a day round trip to punch the clock, and then return to the comforts of home. We do know that that competition in the form of Ford and Tesla are working hard on developing trucks, and with so many fine details kept under wraps, no one quite knows yet about how they will differ and specific features and function.

To make sure that the maximum range is achieved on such a heavy and large truck such as this, the new electric-vehicle platform allows the engineers to stack battery modules two high. Once 24 modules are fitted between the frame and under the body the result is a battery pack that can store as much as 200.0 kWh of electricity right there onboard the vehicle.

Tesla vehicles are currently topping out at around 100.kWh, which is one key reason that this new Chevy should boast such a long electrically-charged driving range. This lofty and Earth-conscious plan to electrify the fleet is going to take some diehard motorists a while to get used to, but the end result will be a more sustainable home for us to work, play, and cruise through tight hairpin turns!
