2022 Chevy Suburban Post WestChester Tribune Drive Test: “Oh, What a Ride!”

The Suburban has long been hailed for its ability to seat at least seven full-sized adults while also offering up plenty of extra room to spare. Many expert auto reviewers and bloggers have had great things to say about it this past year. When the latest wheels-on-pavement expert from the Westchester Tribune took the new Suburban for a spin, it was not hard to miss it in the parking lot as it stood a foot above the other vehicles.

The Suburban is the perfect vehicle to bare the snow with its four-wheel drive and 6.2-liter Ecotech, 3 V8 engine, and 10-speed transmission. You can also opt for the 3.0-liter TurboDiesel engine, another strong example of what today’s technology offers in the all-important powertrain department. The Advanced Trailering System provides an in-vehicle app with brand-new inside and transparent trailer views. It also includes customized trailer profiles, pre-departure checklists, and temperature monitoring to keep you ready when the out-of-town excursion arrives.

With 144 cubic feet of cargo space, this is the ultimate vehicle here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis to handle all your heavy load trips. The heated front bucket seats with leather seating surfaces provide the best in comfort and style. In addition, the Hands-Free Power Liftgate provides easy access to the bed in a snow-covered pinch.

The incredible Chevy Safety Assist suite offers six advanced safety features: Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, and Intellibeam High Beam Assist. The vehicle also has amenities such as Magnetic Ride Control, Dual Tip Exhausts, Power Second and Third Row Seating, and Power Tilt and Telescoping Steering Wheel.

The full redesign last year was when the multi-link rear suspension was introduced for the first time in the model’s 8-+ decade run, which was a major factor in the segment-leading quality of the ride’s character. The Edmunds.com review staff claimed that The RST was one of the best values for trims in the mix: it’s the entry-point for the 6.2-liter V8, which has plenty of power and comes with a great mix of standard features that enhance the SUV’s comfort, convenience, and appearance at first glance.

2022 Chevy Blazer Features Lower Pricing, Same Sporty Style

One of the reincarnations that has been the most exciting to us is the Blazer, as the spirit of a primed-and-ready icon from yesteryear was revamped to stay competitive and current. For this year’s model, the base engine was dropped, and an exciting list of standard and optional features were added  to attract buyers on the hunt for holiday cheer!

Autoblog.com has already taken a liking to the Blazer, writing several online pieces telling the digital masses about the details they loved. The Trailering Package includes a heavy-duty cooling system, which would be best paired with the powerful V6. With  Camaro-inspired styling and a class-leading standard infotainment system, the Blazer also prides itself on its sharp handling.

On top of a head-turning and bold look, its V6 gives the Blazer the exceptional performance and strength to back up its muscular new looks. Competing with others in its segment such as the Ford Edge, Honda Passport, and Hyundai Sonata, the Blazer comes at an affordable price at the base level with one-of-a-kind style. Acceleration to quickly pass on the freeway is easily attainable with the base turbo engine, and this 2.0-liter inline-four pairs perfectly with the entry-level model’s confident braking.

The 308-horsepower V6 is the ultimate match for the 2022 Blazer’s sporty essence. Active noise cancellation is a great feature keeping unwanted sounds from the engine away from the cabin, and the suspension does a great job absorbing bumps and other surprises in the road. Slotted between the award-winning Equinox and Traverse, this midsize, 2-row SUV boasts 64.2 cubic feet of cargo, ready to stow away anything from a full set of clubs to extra gifts just in time for the holidays!

The RS Trim is where the Blazer flashes its sportiest profile, with a look that has found its way to the norm for a compact SUV. The twin-clutch AWD system paired with the brawny V6 is poised and ready to provide the best shift. Standard features included on the base LT model are an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and a Wi-Fi hotspot, dual-zone climate control, an HD backup camera, and the added peace of mind that the Chevy Safety Assist Package provides.

How Does the 2022 Chevy Traverse Fare in Comparison to the 2022 Chevy Blazer?

A little friendly holiday competition is always fun. We lined up the  2022 Traverse and 2022 Chevy Blazer to see which one could be the right purchase for you!

The 2022 Chevy Traverse can carry up to eight passengers, boasts an excellent cargo capacity, and enjoys its position as one of the larger entries in the midsize SUV class. It remains as popular as ever and an excellent choice for any growing family while still being smaller than the Suburban.

The 2022 Chevy Blazer is sharp and has an option V6. Drawing inspiration from the Camaro, the 2022 Chevy Blazer has a sporty vibe and is built for on-road handling.

The Daily Driver Vs. Sporty Aesthetic: Even though it's officially classified as midsize, the 2022 Chevy Traverse is one of the largest in its class. The 3.6-liter V6 onboard cranks out over 300 horsepower. Equipped with a towing package, the Traverse can lug nearly 5,000 pounds as a 3-row family SUV that packs a punch. The higher trim levels provide leather upholstery, an upgraded audio system, hands-free power tailgate, and adaptive cruise control.

The Blazer is backed up by a choice of great engines and top-notch handling performance, with the 308-horsepower V6 aligning perfectly with the sporty essence of the model. The Blazer’s looks provide a chiseled look, and it has a towing capability of 4,500 pounds. An 8-inch screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, and the amazing Chevy Safety Assist package are all standard on the 2022 Blazer.

The Blazer could be appropriate for younger drivers or someone otherwise making a new start. However, there is still enough space for a small family to enjoy!. The Traverse could be better for getting larger groups or families where they need to go with plenty of room.

Both are amazing options, and this pair represents everything that customers love so much about Chevy: rugged capability, amazing first impressions, and world-class warranty coverage!

Fourth Quarter’s Sustainable News Flash: Chevy Bolt to Resume Production This Month

GM is resuming production of the Chevy Bolt, which will begin during November. The production will resume at the Orion assembly plant in Michigan after a thorough restart process that will last about two weeks. This announcement came after LG agreed to provide the necessary funding.

With a competitive estimated driving range, high-tech features, and the makings of a true SUV, the 2022 Bolt is ready for the mainstream. The new model offers a more spacious cabin and a 200-horsepower electric motor that is powered by a 65.0-kWh battery pack with a segment-leading 250 mile range on each charge.

When the Bolt is completed and hits the market later this year, the futuristic features are sure to impress! The available semi-autonomous driving system will allow drivers to enjoy hands-free navigation on the highway, paving the way for updates that boost productivity and overall accessibility. One of our favorite features is regenerative braking, which captures kinetic energy and stores it to help with the Bolt’s range.

The Bolt EUV can be charged on a standard 120-volt household outlet. DC fast charging is where the true value of this technology shines through, providing up to 95 miles of range with just a half hour on the charger.

You’ll be able to choose from connectivity features such as Amazon’s Alexa, an integrated Wi-FI hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The Bolt EUV’s smartphone app can be set up to provide charging alerts and connect with nearby networks to assist you with charging.

We know that safety is important every step of the way, and we take pride in offering vehicles that provide the most modern safety features. Key safety features on the Bolt now include automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and available adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode.

Chevy Corvette Finishes as Second-Fastest Selling Vehicle During September

Spending an average of just 8.6 short-lived days on dealer lots before funding a buyer in September, the 2021 C8 Corvette Stingray has been incredibly popular as of late. Demand has been incredibly high, and the same will be true for the next model!

Production of the 2022 Chevy Corvette Stingray began at the GM Bowling Green Assembly plant during the week of September 6, with a slew of exciting changes that characterize the brand-new model. You can have your pick of Hypersonic Gray Metallic, Amplify Orange Tintcoat, and Caffeine Metallic as far as awesome new colors, a new low profile rear spoiler option, and an IMSA GTLM Championship C8.R Edition Package to commemorate another thrilling year in motorsports. This limited version run of the 2022 Stingray is built to remember our winning season during last year’s WeatherTech Series.

This exciting edition that pays homage to our longstanding success is based on the 3LT trim with the 50 Performance Package and features a graphics package that nicely imitates the No. 3 Corvette C8.R and the No. 4 Corvette C8.R sister car. You’ll be scorching around the track with yellow brake calipers, black-painted Trident alloy wheels, Carbon Flash-painted exterior mirrors, black-painted side rockers, and splash guards.

86 percent of the parts and vital components that make up the Chevy Corvette Stingray are produced at the GM Bowling Green Assembly plant in Kentucky, and the standard 6.2-Liter LT2 V8 engine is made at the GM Tonawanda plant in New York State. Michigan has long been a hotbed of auto manufacturing, and the Corvette’s brakes are proudly produced by Brembo in Homer, MI.

Other new features for the 2022 model include the low rear spoiler and front splitter, Visible Carbon Fiber door intake trim, high wing spoiler with visible carbon fiber, and illuminated door sill plates. Under the hood, the Stingray sees updates to the fuel delivery and Active Fuel Management systems, as well as some fine-honed alterations to the engine calibration for improved emissions. The LT2 V8 will crank out 490 horsepower and 465 lb/ft of torque, and the optional Performance Exhaust boosts that 495 horsepower and 470 lb/ft.

2022 Silverado Engine Lineup Features Four Unique and Ready-For-Business Variants

The refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 lineup features some awesome choices in the engine lineup! Three of them are gas motors that include a turbocharged 4-cylinder along with two naturally-aspirated 8-cylinder Small Blocks, and the fourth is a class-leading, industry-favorite turbo-diesel Duramax inline-six.

All four of these are carried over from the 2019-2021 Chevy Silverado, and if you are looking for something on the smaller side, you need to check out the turbocharged 2.7-liter engine. Starting at the base level of offerings, the 2.7-Liter I4 L3B turbocharged gas engine made its first appearance in the fourth-generation 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. Many contractors, off-roading enthusiasts, and rig lovers will appreciate its 348-lb ft of torque at 4,000 RPM, as well as the torque boost from 348 to 420.

This engine uses technology used in diesel engines that makes for a more durable and long-lasting powertrain. It also lays claim to the most advanced valve train Chevy offers, and is known for its class-leading performance and high level of efficiency. Offering a maximum trailering rate of 9,600 lbs in a two-wheel-drive configuration, it is paired with GM’s 8-speed automatic that has also seen a few valuable tweaks for this year’s release.

The 5.3-liter V8 L84 gasoline engine proves its worth in heavy-duty vehicles such as the Silverado, Tahoe, and Suburban, and they feature an Overhead Valve pushrod design that is an integral part of the trend-setting Small Block configuration. The L84 is part of a completely revised version of the EcoTec3 group, and was at one time the solely available powertrain for the Corvette Z06 model more than four decades ago!

The 6.2-liter V8 is where things get quite a bit more revved-up and powerful, enjoying its perch as the king of the hill while delivering an SAE-certified 420 horsepower at 5,600 RPM and 460 lb-ft of torque. It is the only available engine on the 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2, and all models are paired with GM’s Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission. Don’t be fooled by the name of the “baby Duramax” that is used in full-size half-ton pickups and SUVs: it offers a great amount of low-end torque that makes it ideal for towing as well as segment-leading fuel economy.

2022 Chevy Bolt EUV’s Evolution: Larger, Faster, Eco-Sensical

When it was launched four years ago, the Chevy Bolt began its legacy as GM’s first all-electric vehicle for the everyday driver. A range above 200 miles, reasonable price, and spacious interior have all been attractive features, and the 2022 Bolt is bringing even more to the party!

First off, the Bolt EUV has a six-inch increase in overall length in the backseat, making it roomier inside than Ford’s EV SUV. The material quality and feel have been upgraded, and what began as an eco-friendly urban commuting model has now been updated with the brandished interior touches that are aligned a bit more with what the best luxury crossovers offer.

The regenerative braking system in the Bolt EUV captures kinetic energy during deceleration, storing it in the battery so it can later be used as electric power. Drivers love this system, as it feels more natural than similar types in other EVs, and the one-pedal functionality makes for smooth stops without the need to touch the brake pedal.

Using the 65 kilowatt/hour lithium-ion battery used in the Bolt EV, the EUV has a predicted range of 250 miles, adequately equipping most urban commuters with enough juice to get through the week! Drivers also love that the Bolt EUV is easy to operate, and you don’t have to constantly take your eyes off the road to make changes to the infotainment or climate controls.

At a cost much lower than competitors like the Tesla Model 3 and Mustang Mach-E, the Bolt EUV has now added standard fast-charging capability, with a full recharge on 240 volts taking around seven hours. To sweeten the deal and encourage eco-safe driving, Chevy will now help to cover the cost of installing a convenient Level 2 home charger to qualified customers who purchase or lease a 2022 Bolt!

The purchase of an EV could even qualify you for some state tax incentives. Charging your vehicle is as simple as plugging in your smartphone, and with 266 lb-ft of torque, the Earth-friendly and efficient power is there for you when you need it most!

2022 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Set to Sizzle With Revamped Suspension, High-Quality Interior

Last year’s thorough redesign of GM’s full-size SUVs was the most substantial over the last three decades, and all of us here at Jim Butler Chevy of St. Louis couldn’t be more excited! The Suburban is cool and capable enough to attain star status, having its own prized spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and both the Suburban and Tahoe now have even more stellar reasons you should drive them this fall! Here are some of the choicest reasons that the Suburban and Tahoe are at the top of the list for Autoblog’s full-sized SUV selections.

The available diesel engine is on deck to save you hundreds of dollars annually, and the technology features are perfect for what any full-sized SUV should be. Once inside, every trim except the base LS has the new 12-inch digital gauge display bordered by an old-school analog tach and speedometer. These trims also receive navigation as standard accessible through the 10.2-inch central infotainment touchscreen. Lane-keeping assist and parking sensors are also now standard, and Reverse Automatic Braking is added to the Enhanced Display and Alert package.

We have had scores of excited customers inquiring about the 6.2-liter V8 engine option, and they are all going to be incredibly pleased with the results! The Z71, RST, and Premier trim levels will now offer this mightier option, and both the Suburban and Tahoe will feature an interior that is now completely different from the Silverado pickup truck. The dashboard is now lower and has detailing that gives the cabin the impression of more breathing room.

Most trim levels have the 12-inch screen between analog gauges, with the option to upgrade to a 12.6-inch model to keep passengers in the rear entertained. Bigger SUVs still have a massive amount of consumer appeal and swagger, and the Tahoe grew by 6.7 inches of overall length along with 4.9 inches of wheelbase. The Suburban gained 1.3 inches of extra length, and the wheelbase expanded by 4.1 inches.

When it comes to suspension, there are four offerings available: a fixed steel spring and shock system, an air suspension, a steel spring suspension without magnetic dampers, and an air suspension with magnetic dampers. The magnetic dampers offered the Autoblog team a glassy and smooth ride, incredibly limited body roll, and elimination of the shudders and sudden jerks that larger vehicles are susceptible to. The 6.2-liter V6 is a sweet spot for engine power, although many of the world’s reigning auto experts pick the total domination of the Duramax Diesel as the best choice. If one of the most important things you do is towing, rest assured that the diesel is strongest off the line and the most powerful accelerator to torpedo you and the entire troupe to the next stop!

2021 Chevy Traverse Makes Best All-Wheel-Drive SUV List

Families and students getting back to school in the fall are always on the hunt for a safe vehicle with excellent traction and stability. This improves the car’s handling in the most challenging of road conditions, and provides an extra amount of might and muster if you like to occasionally jump off-road and tackle the challenges of the trail.

U.S. News And World Report included the 2021 Chevy Traverse on its list of the 12 Best All-Wheel-Drive SUVs in 2021, solidifying its class-leading abilities for great driving when the weather gets a bit dicey. The list gave the 2021 Chevy Traverse an overall score of 8.4 out of 10 points, commending the vehicle for its available heated and ventilated seats to add comfort during the cold spells that are so common and uncomfortable during a midwestern winter. With the Drive Mode Selector, you can quickly choose between FWD, AWD, Tow/Haul, and Off-Road modes to efficiently conquer rain, snow, sleet, or ice!

Each trim comes equipped with the 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque along with fully independent suspension making for smooth rides over rough terrain. If frequent trips to the lake are one of the ways you like to kick off the weekend, the Trailering Package provides the power to tow up to 5,000 pounds and transport a small boat or trailer. Inside you’ll find plenty of space, with seating for up to 8 and an impressive 23 cubic feet of cargo volume.

New features for this year include active safety systems becoming standard equipment, redesigned front and rear fascias, and LED headlights and taillights. A bit larger than most of its competitors with a lower entry-level price point, the Traverse will always appeal to families who appreciate good bang for their buck.

Whether your daily missions involve shuttling the sports team, delivering food and groceries, or hauling your entire family on a trip, the latest model Traverse is capable and comfortable. It is also now possible to fully disable the start/stop system that shuts off the engine at stoplights. If this is not suitable for your style of driving, you can use a button just below the gear selector to the right of the electronic parking brake to temporarily disengage the feature.

2022 Chevy Bolt EV’s Electrifying Appearance Heightened With Five Fresh New Colors

Many customers at Jim Butler Chevy of St. Louis are now shifting their vision towards electrification as automotive options become more Earth-friendly. The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV has a more futuristic and aggressively-stanced design, and there are five awesome new colors to choose from to boot.

You can get the 2022 Bolt EV in Cherry Red Tintcoat, Silver Flare Metallic, Gray Ghost Metallic, Bright Blue Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, Ice Blue Metallic, or Summit White. There’s a brand-new exterior design in place featuring an entirely new front and rear fascia. LED headlights have a nice flow down seamlessly to completely reworked fog lights. There is a reworked front grille completing the transformation, and a cool black bow tie representing the Chevy brand.

The GM BEV2 platform is the riding medium for the refreshed bolt EV, held on the single-drive electric motor producing 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. The 65-kWh lithium-ion battery provides 259 miles of range per charge. In 2017, when many drivers had not yet embraced the convenience of electric power, the Bolt was named Motor Trend Car of The Year, as they hailed it for “better car quality, better package, much better handling, and twice the range.”

Chevy will cover the standard installation of Level 2 charging capability inside the homes of eligible customers who opt to lease or purchase the 2022 Bolt. The Dual Level Charge Cord has the capability of up to 11kW using the Level 2 charger and provides an extra 100 miles of driving range in just half an hour.

There’s also a new 10.2-inch touchscreen for the dashboard and push button transmission controls where the shifter was previously located. The button for one-pedal driving mode is close to the steering wheel paddle. Another step in the direction of fully-autonomous operation, this enables the driver to effectively bring the Bolt to a complete halt by lifting their foot off the accelerator without touching the brake pedal. Perfecting the surface appeal needed for everyday consumers to take notice, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV boasts efficiency, true long-distance comfort, and now five new colors as one of the original players in the game.

2019 Chevy Equinox Resides At The Top On KBB “Best Used Cars For Teens” List

When the teenager in your house is asking you to finally pull out of the driveway in their first car, you may have already done a bit of homework regarding insurance rates and gotten anxious! There are a lot of costs that are involved when any teenager reaches that point, so you may be thinking about a used car to ease the financial strain. The Chevy Equinox has received another accolade from the seasoned experts at Kelley Blue Book, as it was named “best used cars for teenagers.”

As teens across America prepare to head back to school this August, it is important to remember that the dangerous crash rate for drivers aged 16 to 19 is nearly three times that for those 20 and older. KBB compared the Equinox against hundreds of different models to finalize their list of the most ideal vehicles for student drivers, while remaining focused on things like safety, fuel economy, and value.

The 2019 Equinox LT was well-situated in the under $20,000 category, ranking highly among competition such as the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek, 2018 Mazda CX-5, and the 2020 Toyota Corolla.

This year, KBB determined that sports cars, larger trucks, and SUVs may push teenagers to up the ante and drive beyond their skill. Since these vehicles are larger yet have worse fuel economy, they should not be considered for teen drivers. Many of these vehicles will come with the burden of much higher insurance premiums and more potential for expensive repairs and accidents.

As far as the current-model Equinox here at Jim Butler, it is distinctly styled with a sporty exterior and interior design that is an immediate hit with the younger crowd. Plush leather upholstery and dual-zone climate controls keep you comfortable during every trip, and the 8-way power driver seat with lumbar support is specifically designed for keeping you comfortable. The Equinox is ready for anything, and its 29.9 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 63.9 cubic feet with the seats folded down can fit any gear sophomores, juniors, or seniors need!

The American Hero With Italian-Grade Sound: 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 Flat-Plane Crank V8 Makes Extraordinary Sound

The sweltering summer days when fast cars race down streets are an all-American thrill this time of year, and the Chevy Corvette is a great example of a track-tuned contender. A teaser video found on Motor Authority revealed what the new Z06's brings to the table!

Based on the sound heard in the video, the Z06 will get its power from a flat-plane crank V8, and it is more wicked and lethal than any other street-legal Corvette in history. When situated in the C8.R, the engine produces 500 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with a 6-speed sequential transmission. When it is dropped in the Z06 street car, it is expected to crank out 625 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque.

The redline is expected to hover around 9,000 RPM. There is also expected to be a wider stance overall, with rear fenders that are completely punched-out and cover extra-large 345 mm rear tires (40 mm larger than the C8 Corvette's 305 mm). The 2022 Z06 model has blown away many sports car enthusiasts with its high performance levels and luxury-status cabin.

The C8.R's inaugural season will come with a limited-edition appearance package inspired by the IMSA GTLM championship-winning competition version. Just 1,000 will be built, featuring the combination of Accelerate Yellow or Hypersonic Gray exterior paint with Carbon Flash colored mirror caps and rear spoiler. The iconic Corvette racing logo appears throughout the design, and the cabin is nicely done up in a yellow and grey matching scheme. Some of the coolest add-ons for the current-year Corvette are a wireless smartphone charging pad, heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a 14-speaker Bose stereo system, blind-spot monitoring, and more.

The 2022 Z06 model will also flaunt optional carbon-fiber wheels, and the latest version of GM's MRC 4.0 Magnetic Ride Control will handle damping duties. The existing C8 comes equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 that's good for 495 horsepower. Various reports also indicate the Z06 will have the active aerodynamics to effectively manage air and provide the highest possible amount of downforce when undergoing extreme and world-class acceleration!

Four Chevy Vehicles Snag Top Spots On Car And Driver's Editors’ Choice List

At Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis, we are frequently asked what high-ranking national publications have to say about our newest models. This year, we are proud to have scored top honors once again. Car And Driver selected four different Chevy models out of more than 400 total vehicles as part of their 2021 Editors' Choice list. These editors chose the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban as two of the year's best large SUVs, and the Camaro ZL1 along with the Corvette as two of the finest sports cars.

The 2021 Chevy Tahoe received a thorough redesign this year and received high marks for its sizable third row, increased interior space, and world-class quiet ride. Another trait that garnered attention is the Tahoe's ability to pull up to 8,400 pounds while debuting its fantastic independent rear suspension. It offers two V8 engines as well as the torquey diesel, and also flaunts an excellent array of driver-assistance options.

The 2021 Chevy Suburban received a refresh of its own for 2021, giving it even more cargo and passenger space than it had before. Consumers will marvel at how compact it feels and especially at the speedy and boisterous 6.2-liter V8. Be sure to check out the RST model: it's a sporty appearance package that can also be equipped with the diesel option and wickedly cool blacked-out exterior trim.

The 2021 Camaro ZL1 moves effortlessly courtesy of its 6.2-liter V8 and available 650 horsepower. Spellbinding performance on the track, amazing value, and overall performance are what makes this model wildly attractive for tried-and-true muscle fans. Perfecting the front engine rear-drive formula, this is a car that will forever muster up thrills for any driver.

The 2021 Chevy Corvette came out on top, even against some tough competition. This car is a home run for the general public, offering raw power and performance while also providing a great everyday drive. This year also saw the release of a limited edition appearance package inspired by the blisteringly fast IMSA GTLM championship-winning competition version.

Taking Weight Off Traveler's Shoulders: 2022 Chevy Traverse Will Now Include Standard Safety Assist Package

Existing on the larger side of things, the 2022 Chevy Traverse is lovin' summertime life here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis. A notch below the huge and hearty Suburban, the 2022 Traverse brings about a model refresh with updates to the styling and interior, as well as the high-tech capabilities of the Chevy Safety Assist package.

The Safety Assist Package includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, and IntelliBeam. The RS, Premier, and High Country trim levels also provide Adaptive Cruise Control and Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking. Last year's model did not have the Safety Assist Package with L and LS trim levels. You'll be able to roll up in style with an updated list of paint options including Northsky Blue Metallic, Silver Sage Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat replacing Graphite Metallic, Satin Steel Metallic, and Cajun Red Tintcoat.

The 2022 Chevy Traverse will be ready for production at GM Lansing Delta Township facility in Michigan in August, with units arriving to our dealership this fall. The engine offering is a 3.6-liter V6 option, which generates 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque sent to the front wheels. With comfortable seating for 7 or 8 passengers and an advantage over its rivals in cargo capacity, it appeals to families and active individuals who want a lot of “metal and space” for their money.

The towing capacity is 5,000 lbs, and the Kelley Blue Book team described the Traverse as “superbly comfortable and capable” after an extended test drive. There is also an 8-inch digital display as an available option in the instrument cluster. A new rear power sunshade is available, as well as a twin-panel sunroof to let the rays in as the miles go by.

The exterior size is nearly 10 inches longer than the Toyota Highlander, and the RS look is ideal for anyone searching for a sporty and aggressive boost in appearance. Subscription-based OnStar connect services with 4G LTE and in-vehicle Wi-Fi are available, and the Rear Camera Mirror enables the rearview mirror to now project a live view to drivers. One excited reviewer that had been driving her current model Traverse for two years claimed that the infotainment display, top-notch ride quality, and leather-appointed seats made her a fully guaranteed repeat buyer!

2022 Chevy Traverse Arrives With Fresh Interior Features, All-New Tech, Automatic Stop-Start Disable Switch

The 2022 Chevy Traverse is poised to arrive on the scene with a fresh attitude and high-tech features! The staff at GM Authority online has always given the scoop on features and additives coming soon, and this past week they informed their readers that the 2022 Traverse will now include an automatic engine stop-start disable switch.

This feature reduces fuel consumption and emissions by automatically stopping the engine when the vehicle comes to a full halt, which will come in handy for all of our Jim Butler Chevy of St. Louis customers when stuck in traffic. Once you remove your foot from the brake pedal, the engine automatically ignites back to full life. This feature works to reduce the harmful emissions that have made the case for the development of electric cars.

The 2020 Chevy Blazer also includes this feature, as well as the 2022 Chevy Equinox, paving the way for a future of cars that will maximize efficiency and environmental safety. The Traverse will also introduce three new exterior color options, including Northsky Blue Metallic, Cherry Red Tintcoat, and Silver Sage Metallic, and production is scheduled to begin on August 2nd, 2021 in Lansing Delta Township, Michigan.

The 2022 model will have a new look that includes fresh lighting elements and four new wheel designs. The interior is updated with new upholstery options and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. Additional standard driver-assistance features have been added, including automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and lane-keeping assist. Adaptive Cruise Control is now optional on the LT, RS, and Premier trims, and remains as standard on the High Country model.

Accounting for 12 percent of large 3-row crossover segments in the U.S., the Traverse beat out the Honda Pilot and Volkswagen Atlas in sales numbers. Identical to the current model, the 2022 Traverse will ride on the GM C1 platform’s long wheelbase version, which is also the fundamental ingredient for the second-generation Buick Enclave. The writing staff at Edmunds noted that this incoming model flaunts “much more dynamics than its predecessor, and makes the driving aids amazingly more accessible.”

2022 Corvette Will Boast 3 New Available Hues: The Ideal Year to Embrace Hypersonic

We are certain here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis that one of the absolutely massive and game-changing things to come off the factory lines in recent years has been the all-new C8 Corvette. As it enters its third year of production, the staff at Slashgear took a bit of extra time to highlight three new color choices buyers will have to spice things up in the shade department for this awe-inspiring and very driver-focused automotive work of art.

The wide-awake additive of Caffeine, louder-than-life Amplify Orange, and the barrier-busting Hypersonic Gray are all on deck for imaginative and fun ways to dip the world's most amazing supercar. Power will continue to be derived from a 490-horsepower 6.2-liter V8, and Chevy has officially confirmed that the order process will begin in just one month. 2022 Corvette models will feature standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and new display options for the digital gauge cluster, with the ultra-furious Track mode including a newly-designed tachometer. 2022 buyers can also add the magnetorheological dampers as a special standalone option, without opting for the full-fledged distance of the Z51 Performance Package.

The C8 can make the sprint to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, and complete the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at an astonishing 122 mph. This well-performing and enormous engine is also now equipped with a new fuel pump, as well as fuel injectors that allow for running higher fuel pressures. The greatly improved fuel management system allows the cylinder deactivation to fully engage at lower speeds, also providing a boost to fuel economy. You can also opt for the IMSA GTLM Championship Edition package which is limited to 1000 cars and will be available on 3LT models equipped with the Z51 Performance Package.

If your 2022 C8 is not equipped with the Z51 package, you can still order a brand-new low rear spoiler and a Z51 front splitter. The E-Ray model is still expected to be a plug-in hybrid model with All-wheel-drive, and the Z06 will still be powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.5-liter V8 DOHC engine with a wider body, flat-plane crank, and more high-performance suspension. When we excitedly take a hard look at what the future has in store for the Corvette, the current eighth-generation Corvette will remain in production for at least up until the 2026 model year.

After being asked about the fiercest competition, we rounded up a list of what we deemed the models to watch out for, but we can guarantee that each of these costs much more than the 'Vette. The Porsche 911, Audi R8, BMW M4, and Mercedes AMG GT are sworn rivals that have been consistently spotted sizing up the 'Vette's new mid-engine stance and swagger! Expert car reviewers nationwide have claimed that the build is so driver-focused that as soon as you climb inside every instrument is in the optimal position to produce the quickest and corner-hungry drive one can imagine!

2021 Chevy Colorado Custom Special Package Offers Upscale Extras, Definitive Work Truck Roots

The 2021 Chevy Colorado is the well-performing means to offer customers here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis the ultimate for a truck in terms of scaled-down size, go-anywhere capability, and awesome features that any truck owner needs to properly get the job done! As you are creating and fully customizing your ideal rig before you visit us here for a test drive, there are sometimes a few different options that are easy to miss out on while clicking and pointing your way through selection. The Custom Special Edition Package adds some unique features to the basic Colorado WT that you don't want to unintentionally not get your eyes on.

The Custom Special Edition Package is available on every Chevy Colorado body configuration and adds various bits of awesome equipment that allow you to call your own. You'll be enjoying the sweet addition of 18” by 8.5” Dark Argent Metallic cast-aluminum wheels, 265/60R18 all-season blackwall tires, body-color rear bumper, body-color door handles, and a driver-side spotter mirror. The first thing that those you roll up on hastily will notice is the slightly more upscale and less grunty look, thanks to the body-color front bumper and 18-inch cast-aluminum wheels.

We listened intently to customers who wanted to start with a lower trim level, then still add some upgrades that won't completely deplete the health of the pocketbook. The Work Truck trim level can also see the addition of the 3.6-Liter LGX V6, and 4-wheel drive for the ultimate in off-roading prowess and all-weather capability. There was also a brand-new aggressively-styled face for the already one-of-a-kind ZR2 model this year, looking a bit like the stuff high-flying superhero vehicles are made of! On top of red tow hooks, both the Z71 and ZR2 gain a Sand Dune metallic paint color, and everyone interested in climbing boulders and drifting through sand during off-roading loves the wide-bodied and jacked up ZR2.

The Work Truck Trim is definitely on top of its technology game as far as connectivity features, where it sees two intuitive touchscreens, the Chevy Infotainment 3 Premium system, and the 7.0-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth audio for two devices and Apple CarPlay and Android capability. You're going to feel at ease about any mishaps on the road every time you buckle in: key safety features the Work Truck provides are available forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and rear parking sensor. The testing staff at Edmunds.com loved the Colorado for its easy-to-use cabin controls, comfortable ride over varied terrain, and well-mannered steering and handling.

We know full well that competitors such as the Jeep Gladiator and Honda Ridgeline have the Colorado in their sights as their prime competition, and assure that you're going to love the bulging square arches that carry over well in classical Chevy truck form. With a max diesel towing capacity of 7,700 pounds and about a 1,500-pound payload capacity, the Colorado is proudly manufactured in Wentzville, Missouri, and boasts a very wide range of capability for new vehicle shoppers who want all of the useful perks of a truck without the massive bulk of a full-size pickup.

2021 Chevy Suburban's Diesel V8 Option Offers Capable Extra Helping of Torque

Both the Tahoe and Suburban are popular full-sized and productive SUVs here at Jim Butler Chevrolet of St Louis and have also both seen a revamping for this year's model. One of the most exciting qualities is the base gasoline V8, which is a naturally aspirated 5.3-liter and was immediately rendered a “must-have” by the writers on staff at Road and Track. Digital editors Aaron Brown and Brian Silvestro had to get from New York City to Missouri with a race car in tow and opted for the new Suburban as their choice.

Headed to the 100 Acre Wood Rally, the diesel variant was perfectly suited for their needs. It was well-tuned to the truck's weight, working fantastically with the standard 10-speed automatic to assure that the right amount of thrust is distributed to the each wheel. If you are looking to fulfill a thorough haul duty on the trailer you have out back, the low-end torque from the diesel model makes a world of difference. Even with 5000 pounds out back for this crew, they did not ever feel as if the diesel was struggling to pull the allocated weight.

One of the most well-known qualities regarding diesel is that it does a great job nailing down 500 miles to a tank for mileage, and there is something very cool about a luxurious SUV with a full-on older-school-style powertrain. This crew also massively enjoyed the addition of fully independent suspension in the rear, as it dished out a very even feel to pretty much every piece of the road the two encountered along the way.

Getting a trailer attached and detached is much easier with the air suspension as well, and the High Country's standard hitch camera meant that the hitch ball would be placed with fine-honed accuracy. They claimed after this half-country haul that the diesel is likely the best bet when it comes to the various selections from the Suburban family, and every professional review we've come across claims that it has the best cargo area in its segment without even breaking a sweat! Seating capacity and long-haul capability are definitely two of its strong points that will appeal to those who may plan on traveling for business or more frequently than just the yearly holiday haul.

This year saw the addition of a larger infotainment touch screen, now boasting 10.2 inches up from 8, and a wider selection of safety features such as forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking standard. A sunroof, hands-free power liftgate, and power-retractable side steps are some of the other available new features, and as the team on duty at Cars.Us.News.Com reflected even though we profoundly love us some diesel, “there is not a bad engine in this lineup”!

Mystery Corvette Spotted Gaining Ground During Testing in German Snowstorm

The Chevy Corvette Stingray has been on sale here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis since last year, but all of the supercar fans across the pond have had to wait a bit longer for the first-ever mid-engined Corvette. A C8 Corvette in camouflage was captured on video by the Carbuzz staff taking a cold day's spin during a snowstorm, and a couple of noticeable differences were obvious after looking closely at the pictures that offer some clues about the prototype's potentially different roots.

Since it is covered completely in camouflage and black, it is strange since everyone in the auto world has already seen what the new Stingray looks like. It could be a prototype of the new Z06 as looking closely reveals a bumper that has seen modifications and larger rear tires. Since emissions regulations abide by much stricter guidelines in Germany, the question was posed about the spied vehicle not having a centrally-mounted exhaust, as the Z06 is slated to derive power from the identical 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 found in the C8.R racing model.

There is now an E-Ray being developed that will replace the Grand Sport, topping a 600 hp output with the addition of electrical assistance. We will have to wait and see just exactly what details are provided for us in the future about this chance sighting: sometimes testing crews love to get their laps in during inclement weather such as snow that helps with keeping a lid on close-up-and-personal details. The current model Corvette has added wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the 2021 model, new options for the digital gauge display, and a Buckle-to-Drive safety feature that prevents the transmission from shifting out of park until it's assured the driver has snapped themselves in safely.

You can also opt for the Full-Length Dual Racing Strip package, offering decorative stripes in orange, blue, red, or yellow. The Z51 performance package is where the truly maxxed-out performance gear is added to the picture, and the 2LT version adds a head-up display, a wireless smartphone charging pad, heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a 14-speaker Bose stereo system, and blind-spot monitoring. The entire cabin inside has been moved up closer to the nose of the car to make room for the ferocious mid-mounted engine and is lined with real metal, imitation suede, leather, and a specially-stitched headliner.

Opting for the thrilling Z51 performance package makes for a zero-to-60 mph blast-off in just 2.9 seconds, courtesy of 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque as well as a freer-flowing exhaust. With bountiful power and massively-intensified traction, “America's Sports Car” offers so much to love for the 2021 year, and we have much reason to believe that there could be another track-tuned and amped-up addition to its family after this recent European stealth sighting!

3 Dashing Chevy Pace Cars Decked Out in Blue Will Dominate Daytona Race Weekend

All of us here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis are eagerly looking forward to the annual return of racing, as this particular year it will provide a sample taste of outdoor freedom that we are all so hungry for! A perfect solution for cabin fever, even watching on TV will give us an extra-special sense of seasonal victory, as temps have plummeted lately across the nation and snow has blanketed much of the Midwest. Last weekend, Chevy had three matching pace cars ready for high-speed excitement during the thrilling races on tap at Daytona International Speedway.

Each one of the cars runs on the 6.2-liter small-block V8, and will proudly display the C8 Rapid Blue Paint color, a great-looking fan favorite. The first of the trio is a Silverado 1500 RS, with a 420-horsepower EcoTec3 V8 that was on-site during the Camping World Truck Series' NextEra Energy 250 on Friday, February 12. The next day the boisterous and brawny 2021 Camaro SS 1LE was the chosen pace car for the Xfinity Series 300, and the Corvette Stingray had the honors on Valentine's day for the Legendary Daytona 500, leading the way for poised Camaro, Mustang, and Camry stock models eager to cross the famed finish line.

Numerous times in history pace cars become sought-after collectibles when a manufacturer issues one as a coveted special edition, as the brand we love to represent has done many times in the past. One unforgettable model was the 1978 Indy Pace Car Edition Corvette sporting a two-tone black-over-silver paint job and the 1998 Corvette with the distinct and memorable purple and yellow color scheme. Another of our personal favorites was from many years back cast splendidly as the 1969 Indy 500 Chevy Camaro with orange stripes over a white-on-white convertible body.

If you are a fan of the Rapid Blue color, you can add it to your very own 2022 Camaro, as it is joining the option list for the new year. On the inside, the current Camaro design is a composite blend of old and new, with the dashboard's design in place over the cluster and chrome interior trim pieces appearing as if they are sourced from our favorite classic muscle car of yesteryear. Opting for a larger 8-inch touchscreen, wireless charging pad, navigation, and premium Bose audio system are ways to excitedly enhance the drive on this car that excitedly brandishes the 6.2-liter V8 that produces 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque.

Other trim levels come armed with power under the hood sourced from a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, a 3.6-liter V6 that provides the next step up generating 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque, and the hefty supercharged V8 that generates 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The ZL1 is the proper track hound's dream model that physically defines “having everything” over the top, with adaptive dampening, wider tires, manually adjustable front suspension, and its precisely-allocated 650 horsepower.

2021 Chevy Blazer and Ford Edge Face Off in Red-Hot PostBowl Rankings Showdown

Everyone here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis agree that this Is the perfect time of year to be properly fired up with competitive spirit, as the two highest-performing pro football teams in the nation squared off against each other this past weekend on the field. February is also a month when customers are reporting back to us about how their newest purchases have been performing, and which features and trim levels they are benefiting from most. The bloggers at Motor Trend put the two highly-competitive and athletically-stanced Ford Edge and Chevy Blazer crossovers to the test while comparing their features, and letting you know exactly which one figuratively scores the touchdown in the customer's eye.

They are roughly the same size, both have two rows of seats, and have similar four and six-cylinder engines. Our prized Blazer was revitalized in 2019, and the second-generation Edge came out 4 years earlier. The Edge offered a larger standard infotainment system new for 2021 and offers the now-expected Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. Both the Edge and Blazer earn five-star safety ratings from NHTSA, a plus for busy families who want to be sure that every drive offers the highest level of protection and doesn't leave any “what ifs” regarding always arriving intact and sound.

As far as design and appearance, this comparison acknowledges right away how the Blazer is anything but bland and comes strongly out of the gate with pony-inspired design cues. Once inside you are reminded of what it's like to drive its close relative in the form of the Camaro, marking the Blazer as the ideal “passing and running yard gain” dominator in the showdown. For anyone who wants to arrive brandishing a currently-stylish edge and added confidence, we undoubtedly proclaim the Blazer as the compliant and comfortable choice with a perfect dose of fist-pumping aggression.

The Blazer is also priced lower at the viable entry point, and the V6 approaches the pivotal redline interval with an excited and eager attitude that makes the most mundane of errands a blast. This particular cold winter's comparison rendered the Edge as the more sensible commuter's choice, with the Blazer coming in as the sure-fire winner for the buyer whose daydreams tend to wander towards open throttles and taking tight corners with the music cranked.

Online car experts Edmunds reflected after several test drives that the available Convenience and Driver Package is well worth the addition with heated seats, a programmable power liftgate, auto-dimming side mirrors, and rear cross-traffic alert. As we have sourced the best reviews and expert opinions to keep us up to speed on what is trending and the various traits that make crossovers stand out from the crowd, most who are solidly in the loop of automotive know-how have favored the Blazer's RS Trim: it provides the muscular V6, 20-inch black-painted wheels, a programmable power liftgate, upgraded touchscreen with navigation, 120-volt power port, and heated steering wheel.

Track-Focused and Sizzling Asphalt-Ready Corvette Z06 Due By The Balmy Days of Summer

As soon as the 8th-generation Corvette was officially shown to the public in a large California airline hangar, everyone here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis watched intently as auto media experts and drivers alike rapidly fell for it. Since it was such a well-received and exhilarating release, there is now an entire array of increasingly powerful Corvettes that will be coming out over the years, and the staff on duty at Gear Patrol suggested quite officially that we could see a brand-new Z06 by July of this year, or even sooner.

It had circulated in official circles that “it's not a project anymore” regarding its completion, and we would be led to believe that the Z06 model could see the fast-track regarding production. A finely-honed focus on-track performance and power would be the exhilarating result of a 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 with a flat-plane crank similar to what is found in the Ferrari as well as Shelby GT350. The Stingray is a valuable benchmark to use as an entry point illustrating just how much the entire Corvette line has to offer, and the Z06 is where the delicately-prepared supercar racing numerous laps around the track shines through with a fervor.

As the seasoned crew on duty at Car And Driver reported last week, the anticipation is building in massive amounts for this mightier Z06, as the flat-crank V8 on board is going to sound unlike anything that has come before it. With close attention paid to the aerodynamic factors that adjust to provide maximum downforce and cornering ability, it is pretty much guaranteed to be lightning-fast when navigating a straight line. As soon as the C8 came out drivers were excited about the characteristics of the cabin layout that made it so driver-focused, and the Z06 will include a 12.0-inch fully digital gauge cluster, a heads-up display, heated and ventilated seats, and wireless charging.

The 8.0-inch touchscreen on board supports Chevy's Infotainment 3 Plus system, and there will be the choice of a standard 10-speaker or 14-speaker Bose system to properly amp up the driving mood in an already-potent and longstanding classic that is the king of the highway and track continuously in its own rite. Years ago drivers would re-live every hairpin turn and straightaway acceleration jaunt by telling stories to their friends who may or may have not always believed them, and now the Performance Data Recorder can stake the ultimate proof and claim to the majority of your exploits.

A few images captured at Grattan Raceway snagged up recently just outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan provided a close-up look at the side of the car, where we fully admit that Chevy was pretty adamant about hiding the brake package residing behind the actual design. It has also been disclosed to us that the engineering team is considering making the telltale sound of the exhaust pipes even more resonant with a center-mounted exhaust option, guaranteed to provide the greatest and most dedicated fans of the Z06 even more to savor every single time it bellows up after turning over!
