Chevy Unveils Redesigned 2011 Silverado Heavy-Duty Pickups


Last week at the Chicago auto show, Chevrolet unveiled the redesigned 2011 Silverado Heavy-Duty pickup truck.  The most notable new feature is thier 6.6- liter Duramax turbodiesel engine with a six-speed Allison automatic transmission.  Other mentionable points include class-leading torque and fuel economy with quicker acceleraction and sixty-three percent reduced exhaust emissions from the Duramax engine.  Exterior changes include a new louvered hood, front bumper, grille and available 20-inch wheels.  The Silverado heavy-duty line up, which has been extended to include 11 2500HD models and 8 3500HD models that can have either single or dual rear wheels.  Various cab and cargo-bed configurations are available.  Three trim levels are also offered: the base work truck, midlevel LT, and premium-grade LTZ.
