Environmental consideration in a pickup? Yep, it’s real, and
Chevrolet is leading the way.
In a move that bests its midsize-truck rivals, the 2015 Chevy
Colorado and the 2015 GMC Canyon each will have a combined EPA fuel economy
rating of 21 mpg. With a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, the two-wheel-drive version of
the trucks will be rated at 18 mpg in city driving and 26 mpg on the highway,
for a combined rating of 21 mpg. Four-wheel-drive versions aren’t far behind and
will be rated 17 mpg in city driving and 24 on the highway, for a combined
rating of 20 mpg.
“Colorado proves you don’t have to buy a lot of expensive
technology to save money at the pump,” said Tony Johnson, Chevy Colorado
marketing manager.
