Back in February, Chevrolet announced its plans to build an all-electric EV car to boost its lineup. Looking to “shake up the status quo” on electric vehicles, Chevy put the Bolt on its production list. More than half a year later, the Bolt has been spied inside and out during test runs, and the hatchback looks to be all that was promised and more.

Inside, the tested Bolt’s dash set-up is streamlined yet tech-intensive. The displays look larger than what is offered in the Volt. Intriguing is the central display. In the spy shots, different software than the usual MyLink system is running. Whether this is a new update to MyLink or an entirely new feature remains to be seen. It’s always a possibility to that they are disguising the MyLink system to throw off spy photographers.
The shifter is certainly a point of interest on the new Chevy Bolt. A park button rests by what would be the driver’s thumb, and the trigger could help the driver switch between drive and reverse. It is comparable to shifters on some luxury makes and would add some class to Chevrolet’s electric car if the prototype is unchanged.
