Mid-Engine Corvette Is Becoming A Reality

Source: roadandtrack.com

Attention St. Louis Corvette enthusiasts: Although this rumor is always floating around, it seems this time there may be some truth behind it. After a recent string of spy photos, it looks as if the next Chevrolet Corvette won’t be your typical C7 Stingray, but rather a mid-engine Corvette.
Caught in action at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds, the new Corvette was camouflaged heavily- C7 body panels and all. However, a few things point to the fact that this one may be different. For example, the vehicle’s rear hatch looks as if it is missing its glass cover- this could be so that the engine, located behind the seats, is receiving enough cool air.

GM engineers and executives have taken on many attempts to make a mid-engine Corvette- just last year they were caught testing a prototype that combined the C7 Corvette and the Holden Commodore SSV. So, it seems as if this could be coming a reality for many ‘Vette fanatics within the next few years!

We’ll be sure to keep you posted. In the meantime, be sure to stop by Jim Butler Chevrolet in St. Louis, MO to check out the New 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe!
