2021 Chevy Colorado Mid-Size Truck Sees New Trim, New Packages, Same Aggressive Stance

The 2021 Chevy Colorado mid-size pickup truck has many exciting additives for the new year's model: a new Custom Special Edition, a beefed-up ZR2, the return of the ZR2 Bison, and the return of the 2.8-liter turbo-diesel inline-4. Robert Duffer of The Car Connection blog produced a great feature over the past week about the upgrades the Colorado sees to the front and rear, and the exciting new 8.0-inch touchscreen now standard on all but the base WT.

The Colorado nameplate saw its return in 2015, but it then needed a refresh to keep its edge against mid-sized trucks such as the Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma. All four trims will feature the “Chevrolet” lettering instead of the bow tie on the tailgates, and up front the bow ties will be revised to provide matching for the larger grilles. There is the available selection of a new Sand Dune Metallic paint for the Z trims, and the WT, LT, and Z71 models get new center bars, lower bumpers, and front skid plates. The Custom trim now available on the base WT includes body-color grille, mirrors, door handles, and rear bumper, on top of 18-inch aluminum wheels.
When you are customizing the appearance of your vehicle to make it look like your very own, there are now more exciting options than ever before to deck it out! There is now a new Chrome Appearance Package available for the LT model, adding chrome on the grille, door handles, rear bumper, belt-line molding, and on the heated manual-folding side mirrors. The ZR2 off-road variant sees the most significant upgrade, with the taller mesh grille now resembling what is present on a Silverado Heavy Duty minus the thicker headlights.

The Colorado still boasts the same three engine choices: a 200-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4 cylinder, a 308-horsepower 3.6-liter V6, and a 181-horsepower turbo-diesel inline-4 that cranks out 369 lb-ft of torque. You can snag up the 2021 Colorado with crew cab or extended cab and have your choice of rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. We also pay close attention to what the knowledgeable staff on duty at Autotrader.com has to say about new releases, and regarding this one, they claimed it is the “most customizable of the midsize truck segment, offers excellent power-train options, and offers up the best in comfortable ride and handling.”
We at Jim Butler Chevrolet would have to recommend the LT trim as the best in show, for the fact that this is where the 8-inch touchscreen comes into play, and you’ll enjoy the ability to add other valuable options such as the Safety Package, Skid-plate Package, and Convenience Package, which include goodies such as heated side mirrors and remote start. You’ll also enjoy the added presence of LED daytime running lights, a sliding center-console armrest, and a leather- covered steering wheel. Rear-parking assist works with the standard rear-view camera and provides alerts to nearby objects at the rear of the truck to aid you in the perfect parking job.

2021 Chevy Tahoe Air Suspension Highlights Examined in New Chevy Video via GM Authority

It is always exciting for all of us here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis to see how much enhancements and upgrades change a model and its personality. What some may have not been interested in just one year ago could change drastically as they realize that “oh-so-important” element has now changed to their advantage! The 2021 Chevy Tahoe now has even more versatility after the addition of the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension option, which is offered on High Country and Z71 trim levels.

This advertisement video from the pros on staff at GM Authority does a good job of illustrating just how this suspension operates. There are four modes for the air suspension system, with each one doing its job to modify the vehicle ride height to suit the conditions being driven over and weathered. The Maximum Ground Clearance setting does the job of raising the Tahoe optimally to help it navigate the ground underneath without problems, and it lifts the vehicle with just the simple turn of a knob. Improving fuel efficiency is one of the biggest issues that is in the spotlight regarding the automotive industry today and lowering the ride height on the highway by means of this suspension is a great help.
You can use this feature to quickly make it easier to align properly with a trailer hitch, or appropriately lower the suspension to ease passenger ingress and egress. Another super cool bonus is that the suspension features automatic load leveling at each of the four corners. As of this writing, the new 2021 Tahoe air suspension system will see late availability, with an anticipated arrival securely slated for later this year. This year's model saw great improvements in technology, safety features, and interior space and can seat up to nine passengers very comfortably.

The standard 10-inch touchscreen was what the Autotrader.com staff thought was the best interior feature, as well as standard automatic emergency braking. The new 3.0-liter inline-6 turbodiesel may be the best option for buyers that are on the hunt for true fuel efficiency on the daily drive and with six trims available you'll find the one perfect for you. Ask us to show you if the LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, or High-Country best fits your needs. At just one trim level higher than the base, the LT comes with a hands-free power tailgate, memory driver's seat, leather seating, 9-speaker Bose audio system, wireless phone charging, and heated front seats.

The direct competition for the Tahoe comes in the form of the Ford Expedition, Nissan Armada, and Toyota Sequoia. We love how the overall styling fits right in with others in the Chevy portfolio such as the Silverado and Trailblazer, and changes in dimensions pay homage to the larger people haulers in the mix! You’re going to feel confident, ready to reach your outdoor weekend destination, and capable of your daily duties in the Tahoe with this groundbreaking new suspension system.

2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Configurators Allow for “Cutting the Perfect Jewel”

When we are on the hunt for current news scoops and updates in the automotive world here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis, hot sources all over the web such as Autoblog are great at cranking out the front-running headlines. They informed auto enthusiasts everywhere in their last story that the configurators for the 2021 Chevy Suburban and Tahoe are now officially up and running! As the summer temperatures rise and air conditioning seems like a comfy situation, you can spend pleasantly chilly hours building your optimum vehicle and learn all of the details about the cars while you're at it.

One example that the testers use what that of an SUV chauffeur for the Tahoe, working for airport runs or a company like Uber. The started out with the basic black-entry level LT spec in 2WD and added the Luxury Package for assistance and driver convenience features. Then it was time to up the ante incorporating the Rear Seat Media and Navigation package to keep passengers occupied, on top of a locking center console, cargo shade, and black Bowtie emblems, all after graduating up to 20-inch wheels for greater curb appeal.

Just a decade or so ago, customers would have to spend a much greater amount of time at the dealer trying to figure out which model was going to suit them in the long run, and looking at pamphlets is not nearly as involved and productive as piecing together the perfect trim online. The initial Suburban build was for a man who runs survivalist and outdoor courses and began with the Z71 trim, Shadow Gray Metallic Exterior, and Dark Atmosphere interior. With the Z71 package, you get to lock in the Max and Advanced Trailering packages, also sporting black Bowtie emblems. Then without completely breaking the bank, they opted for the Luxury and Rear Media and Navigation packages.

The second Tahoe build was for a typical Midwestern family in Minnesota. It started with a 4WD Premier trim, and Graywood Metallic paint as well as Jet Black and Maple Sugar perforated leather interior to match. The Premium Package features many convenient additives such as trailering tech to make boat towing easy, and the 15-inch heads up display. Then it was decided to add 22-inch Carbon Flash wheels, and Rear Seat Media for the kids and a factory-official rooftop tent. After it was completed it seemed perfect for Minnesota lake weekends, and the High Country Trim offers grunty power by means of the 6.2-liter V8.

It is exciting that you can really dive all of the ways in and think about your various options when it comes to this pair of vehicles, and customize the one that will patiently wait for you every morning in the driveway! The Suburban is one of those iconic vehicles that has displayed a longstanding track record of reliability that is what we pride it on, and these two are a forceful pair to be reckoned with as far as any form of competition at all is concerned. We hope that you spend some blissful air-conditioned hours designing a Tahoe or Suburban for your own needs and meet us here at Jim Butler to “cross the summer's finish line” and finalize the decision.

2021 Chevy Suburban Z71 Photos see Public Release Via Chevy Online Configurator Tool

The full-size off-roading crowd that we converse with so much here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis had every reason to be hyped when Chevy unveiled the 2021 Tahoe Z71, with its powerful V8 engine options and four-wheel prone approach and departure angles. What many car lovers had still not seen until Thursday was the XXL Suburban Z71, with its roomy seating for 8 and ultra-knobby BF Goodrich all-terrain tires. That's all different from now on as the hot summer days arrive, and the people-hauling prowess of the family's best 4x4 made its debut in Chevy's online configuration portal.

Users of the New Tahoe Yukon forum that happened to have very keen eyes spotted the new Suburban first and quickly posted it online. As many expected, the Z71 is similar in style to its relative in the form of the Tahoe, with a wheelbase nearly 14 inches longer. There are also 16 cubic feet of additional cargo space behind the third row for hauling any vital gear around. Engine choices are the GM 5.3-liter V8 or the even more powerful 6.2-liter version.

Now coming as a standard feature is Hill Descent Control, and properly topping off the Z71 package are front and rear tow hooks, “off-road” wheels, and trim-specific styling from the grille on down to the new unique badging. Even though the total length of the vehicle is increased by just over one percent, the cargo space is up by 19 percent over the outgoing GM's family of new SUVs – and various experienced ride testers have claimed that you really notice during every crack and crevice just how valuable and game-changing it is.

At 85 years and counting, the Suburban is the longest-running nameplate in automotive history. Many out there are excited about the fact that the architecture that underpins both the sensational Silverado 1500 and Silverado HD pickups are what the Suburban rolls on. This was part of a mission to make sure that the Chevy models differentiate from their GMC counterparts, and that the light-duty and heavy-duty trucks as well as various trims see a distinct variety. This is the first time ever that the Suburban sees a panoramic roof, and stitching is accompanied by piping on the seats for an aesthetic touch. The level of progression in the auto market is astounding right now, and there is five times the data processing power of the outgoing model to support vital over-the-air updates and vehicle diagnostics to boot!
