2018 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Claims “Best Pickup Truck of 2018” Award from Cars.com

Trucks have long been an integral part of the St Louis Community. We know how urban the city can feel, and there are now many great employers such as Centene, Jones Financial, and Graybar Electric who have been setting the bar here in the city. Many young professionals that are moving here for new opportunities come to see us at Jim Butler and ask: “Is there a good reason for me to get a truck? I'm very interested in the prospect of owning a sedan”. We agree that for some lifestyles, the car can truly provide what you need, and great SUVs such as the Equinox are winning over customer after customer.

But as the sounds of artists like Eric Church and Cole Swindell have been high on the charts lately, it's no secret that even the most avid big-city dwellers are enjoying getting their dose of country on the stereo during the daily drive! Well, we hate to break it to you, but a sedan doesn't exactly ooze the same kind of rugged-and-ready vibe of a truck if you have green pastures and open spaces on your mind. Perhaps you have just made a change in your life, moved further out of the city, or are in a situation where you are dwelling so deep in the metro that the wide open expanse of the country is calling your name for a weekend trip!

If any of these scenarios are the case, a midsize truck may be right up your alley. The Chevy Colorado ZR2 was the final choice of Cars.com's “Best Pickup Truck of 2018” award, joined in a close second by the Silverado 3500. The editors praised the truck for its “almost perfect combination of passion and technology”, also adding that it is quite possibly the most distinctive vehicle that's come along in years. To fully compete in the off-road segment.... it was not going to be possible to simply launch with a vehicle that followed the mold, and the ZR2 did a great job of defying those who for any reason did not believe in it: 300,000 models were sold in three years.

One of the major differences in the ZR2 from the standard Colorado is that it features three-and-a-half inch wider track, and a suspension lifted by two inches. To up the ante on performance, functional rocker protection has been added, and front and rear bumpers have been modified for a better success rate in the clearance zone. Widely acclaimed for front and rear electronic locking differentials, diesel engine option, and the first off-road application of Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve damper technology, the ZR2 has also turned many other heads in the auto critique business. This is the truck that Motortrend claimed “glides over rocks and ruts effortlessly”, and the aggressive attention to the bodywork with relentless rock-hopping ability has secured its place as one superb and able wrangler to watch for 2018!
