After the holidays make their way through St Louis, there can be a lull of sorts during the month of January. Many of the ornaments are already packed up, the tree has come down, and you may have even had time to stand in line (or virtually) return the gifts that weren't to your liking! This is when all of the new models hit the showrooms, and we couldn't be more excited. If you are feeling a bit like cabin fever has you under its spell, there are actually a few pretty fun events to check out during the month of January! Don't miss the St Louis Cardinals Winter Warm-Up from January 13 – 15: here you can participate in autograph sessions, special baseball clinics, and a sports memorabilia show.
Motorcycle enthusiasts from across the region will be rolling into The Dome at America's Center on January 13th and 14th, where you can check out amazing stunt performances, as well as hundreds of new bikes on display. For events like this, you may find it in order to take more than just a few friends along for the ride, and a vehicle like the brand new 2018 Tahoe from us here at Jim Butler would be suitable for the situation. Writer Matt Myftiu from the Macomb Daily recently took a test drive with the Tahoe, and was pleased with everything he saw. Being big and bulky was the first positive trait that he liked: there is something very pleasing about a vehicle that is not subtle, with big tires and a grille that is on point right off the bat to make a statement.
There are three rows in the Tahoe, with seating for up to nine, depending on the customization that meets your needs. One setup works for as few as 7 people, with captain's chairs placed in the middle row. Matt liked the design with 7 seats, and just how easily it offered access to the third row, which is perfect for children. Folding down the third row into the floor is one way to up the ante on total cargo space, giving you more room for trips outside the city. Heated leather seats and steering wheel are other nice additives that can get you through the cold season here in Missouri, with a promise of comfort instead of the frigid temps!
Riding high in the Tahoe is one of its other benefits: not everyone on the road wants to be trapped in a tiny box that could blow over with a high wind, or be rattled by the tiniest of tremors! Even the front passenger seat seems a bit far away from you due to the vehicle's width, and interstate jaunts are sometimes best tackled under the guise of the wide and durable. The 5.3-liter V8 EcoTec 3 engine pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 lb–ft of torque.
There is also a more powerful 6.2-liter V-8 available now, and rear-wheel drive is standard. During Matt's drive in the Tahoe, he did encounter a snowstorm, and many around him were stressed with the roadway travel. Had he been trying to tackle it in a sedan, he would have been worried, but he said that he rivaled moxie. Also possessing towing abilities of up to 8.600 pounds, the Tahoe will be your best in show when the lake days come around again: boats and jet skis on their way up to the Ozarks will definitely be pulled along with ease!
