2015 Chevy Trax Prepares for January Debut

The upcoming Chevrolet Trax might be considered a “small” SUV, but it certainly is entering the world in a big way.

Set to go on sale next year, the Chevy Trax has been spotted on the streets of Detroit as Chevy shoots its new small SUV for a variety of advertising. The Trax has been seen near Slows Bar-B-Q and soon will be heading to Shinola and Campus Martius for shoots.

The 2015 Chevy Trax blends small-car agility with the utility of an SUV, including up to 48.4 cubic feet of cargo space. At 167.2 inches long, the small sporty SUV is designed as a city commuter vehicle agile enough to maneuver city streets and small enough for parking spots. Trax also will make OnStar 4G LTE and a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot available, as well as MyLink technology featuring the segment’s only seven-inch color touch screen. As for safety, the 2015 Chevy Trax provides ten standard air bags, including side-curtain and knee air bags – and the segment’s only rear seat-mounted thorax air bags. That’s more standard air bags than its competitors.

“Trax offers customers another option in the Chevrolet family and will be a strong competitor in the emerging small-SUV market, which is expected to grow more than 80 percent by 2016,” said Alan Batey, General Motors senior vice president, Global Chevrolet. “Trax also leverages our global resources and builds on Chevrolet’s strong SUV heritage.”

The 2015 Chevy Trax goes on sale in January, and we at Jim Butler Chevrolet couldn’t be more excited!

2015 Colorado, Canyon Score Impressive Fuel Economy Ratings

Environmental consideration in a pickup? Yep, it’s real, and Chevrolet is leading the way.

In a move that bests its midsize-truck rivals, the 2015 Chevy Colorado and the 2015 GMC Canyon each will have a combined EPA fuel economy rating of 21 mpg. With a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, the two-wheel-drive version of the trucks will be rated at 18 mpg in city driving and 26 mpg on the highway, for a combined rating of 21 mpg. Four-wheel-drive versions aren’t far behind and will be rated 17 mpg in city driving and 24 on the highway, for a combined rating of 20 mpg.

“Colorado proves you don’t have to buy a lot of expensive technology to save money at the pump,” said Tony Johnson, Chevy Colorado marketing manager.

Rally Package Gives 2015 Chevy Silverado New Stripes

The Chevy Silverado just got a little more distinctive.

All new for the 2015 model year, the Chevrolet Silverado is adding an appearance package called the Rally Edition for double cab and crew cab LT and LS models. The new package will add thick black rally stripes on the hood and on the tailgate, giving the truck an extra-sporty look.

Chevy also is adding black accents to the rest of the vehicle, making black alloy wheels, black mirror caps and door handles available in the package. The front has changes, too, with a black Chevy bowtie proudly resting upon the body-colored grille.

The Rally Edition lives up to its name in excitement and power, too, as these trucks will feature the standard 4.3-liter V-6 engine with 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque or the optional 5.3-liter V-8 with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque.

Orders for the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Rally Edition begin in September. Swing by Jim Butler Chevrolet, the number-one Chevy dealer in St. Louis, to order yours today!
