The heads at Chevrolet are “hustling” to present a new Malibu— Chevrolet’s mark in the mid-size car segment — within a year according to a report from Automotive News. While the Cruze has been grabbing headlines and satisfying owners the past few years, the Malibu has been waiting in the wings.

20 ways Chevrolet Trax blazes the compact SUV trail into 2015

Jim Butler Chevrolet of St. Louis proudly presents city-smart vehicle that can handle almost any adventure with the 2015 Chevrolet Trax. This incredible vehicle — Chevrolet’s seventh small vehicle launched in the past four years — combines the agility of a compact car with the capabilities of an SUV.

The small SUV segment projects nearly 80 percent growth in the next few years, and the Trax goes on sale in early 2015 at Jim Butler Chevrolet. Though it can be seen as an SUV, the 2015 Chevrolet Trax performs efficiently with a standard turbocharged engine that delivers power on demand and segment-leading, EPA-estimated 34 highway mpg.

Yet the 2015 Trax provides more for owners than a fuel-efficient SUV with compact agility. Below are 20 reasons why the new Chevrolet Trax will make its mark with its maneuverability,
technology and versatility.

1. Seating for up to five with up to eight seating/cargo-carrying configurations.

2. A 60/40-split, flat-folding rear seat and a segment-exclusive fold-flat front passenger seat allows eight feet of storage for longer items such as surfboards for a trip to the beach or skis for a trip to the mountains.

3. Up to 48.4 cubic feet of cargo space when the rear seats are folded and 18.7 cubic feet behind the split-folding rear seatbacks. This storage space surpasses the Nissan Juke and comparable to the Kia Soul and Jeep Renegade.

4. 15 interior storage compartments which leads the small SUV segment

5. Standard and dealer-available cargo management features

6. Standard Chevrolet MyLink Infotainment with seven-inch diagonal color touch screen is highly customizable and links to smartphones and MP3 players.

9. Standard USB port with MP3 playback/iPod music device support can also let users upload photos and videos to the MyLink screen.

10. Available BringGo navigation app and Sirius XM Satellite Radio. The BringGo app brings smartphone-enabled navigation displayed on the MyLink screen, and the touch screen can be used to control the navigation.
11. Powered by an Ecotec 1.4L turbocharged engine backed by a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine rates at an SAE-certified 138 HP and 148 lb-ft of torque. These engine and transmission work in tandem to produce the 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway efficiency.

12. Available all-wheel drive enhances driving confidence in slippery conditions.

13. Dimensions are designed for confidence and maneuverability. The wide, planted stance gives drivers confidence on any terrain but can also be nimble enough for parking in the city.

14. MacPherson-strut front suspension and compound crank rear suspension deliver driving agility. The strut-type front suspension delivers ride comfort with sporty, direct responsiveness, while the compound crank rear suspension combines all the advantages of a conventional torsion beam axle, including minimal space requirements, with low weight and consistent camber control.

15. Direct-acting, fuel-saving column-mounted electric power steering system is featured on all models and has an electric power steering system which helps save fuel by drawing energy only when the steering wheel is turned.

16. Starting price of $20,995 for LS trim includes standard Chevrolet MyLink infotainment with a 7-inch-diagonal touch screen, OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, segment-leading 10 standard air bags, rear fold-flat and front-passenger fold-flat seats, USB port, air conditioning, power locks and windows, power outside mirrors and remote keyless entry.

These are just 20 reasons why the 2015 Chevrolet Trax can become a leader in the small SUV segment, but the next big thing in the small SUV segment has many more ways to provide a great vehicle for those in the city or country.

Chevy Silverado 2500HD Crushes Competition in Twist Test

Here at Jim Butler Chevrolet, we're twisting and shouting over the results from a frame twist test that shows the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD outperforms its competitors on uneven terrain.

AMCI Testing, a third-party research firm, pitted the Silverado against the Ford F-250 Super Duty in a test that runs the vehicles over staggered ramps and measures the distance between the cab body and bed to determine how much twist the frame of each pickup truck endured. AMCI found that the Silverado HD took 0.26 inches of twist, while F-250's endured 0.94 inches of twist. The Chevy Silverado was the clear winner, thanks to its use of roll-formed steel -- a higher-grade steel that is stronger, lighter and provides increased rigidity -- in the bed.

Feel how stable the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is for yourself when you visit us for a test drive. As the number one Chevy dealer in St. Louis, we're ready to shake it up, baby.

Chevrolet Corvette Zo6 Motor Purrs

Some people laugh when a car enthusiast equates a revving engine to a kitten purring, but we totally get it -- it’s a hum that makes us want to prowl, salivate and pounce.

Car and Driver has video of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Zo6 prototype revving its 650-horsepower V8, and it’s something to behold. We dare you not to smile as you watch the video for yourself:

Even better, Car and Driver is featuring photos of the Corvette’s exterior. You’ll notice that the paint job is a little, er, unconventional. This prototype showcases a black and white trompe l’oeil design and was parked near the University of Michigan campus.

We at Jim Butler Chevrolet can’t wait to check out the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Zo6’s beautiful engine for ourselves. Wanna be there when we do? Let us know in the comments!

Chevy Camaro Z/28 Wins Motor Trend’s Best Driver’s Car

Being the best is a great feeling, isn’t it? We’re certainly excited that the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 recently was named Motor Trend’s 2014 Best Driver’s Car. In the award’s seven-year existence, the Z/28 is the first American car ever to win.

And, really, its triumph is no surprise. Building on the legacy of the original SCCA Trans Am-series contender introduced in 1967, the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 has race car features and plenty of oomph. Its chassis, suspension, tires and brakes are made
for the track, and its 7.0L LS7 V-8 rated at 505 horsepower (376 kW)
and 481 lb-ft of torque (652 Nm) complements the lightweight vehicle
components to give the car an enviable 7.6:1 power-to-weight ratio.

Motor Trend’s Best Driver’s Car contenders are selected from all new or significantly revised performance cars launched in the twelve months prior to the test. Editors complete a battery of tests -- including digitally instrumented laps at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and high-speed driving up and down a 4.3-mile hill climb on a closed rural highway -- to determine the winner.

“The transformation of the fifth-generation Camaro from ‘muscle car that handles pretty well’ to Best Driver’s
Car winner is astounding,” the editors of Motor Trend said in their
write-up. “You feel the superior engineering in how the car responds
to inputs both internal and external. From within, the car reacts immediately
and precisely to your commands but doesn’t punish your mistakes. From the
outside, the Z/ 28’s suspension attacks bumps and dips with an unbridled
passion for keeping the tires on the pavement.”

Have you ever been behind the wheel of a Chevy Camaro Z/28? What do you think you’d be like on the race track? Swing by Jim Butler Chevrolet and let us know about your need for speed.

Chevrolet Improves Child Safety Features

Studies have shown that nine out of ten parents let their children transfer out of booster seats well before the recommended height and age. That’s nine out of ten families with children in unsafe conditions!

But Chevrolet has a mission to keep kids safe, no matter what. That’s why the new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Extended Cab now combines the midsize pickup’s removable headrest with a rear passenger side seat cushion to better accommodate today’s larger child restraints and booster seats. Many child restraint manufacturers require at least 80 percent of the child restraint be supported by the vehicle seat. The Colorado patent-pending rear seat cushion extension helps satisfy that requirement.
The Chevrolet Impala’s in the safety game, too. To protect young passengers and give them room to grow, the Impala offers easy access to LATCH anchorages for all three rear seating positions. The impala also makes available shoulder belt comfort guides that help position the belt properly without cutting into a child or smaller adult. A comfortable seatbelt is one that everybody is more likely to wear.

Here at Jim Butler Chevrolet, we support Chevy for its unwavering commitment to safety. Stop by the dealership and check out all of the great safety features on Chevrolets that could help protect your family when they need it most.
