The American Hero With Italian-Grade Sound: 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 Flat-Plane Crank V8 Makes Extraordinary Sound

The sweltering summer days when fast cars race down streets are an all-American thrill this time of year, and the Chevy Corvette is a great example of a track-tuned contender. A teaser video found on Motor Authority revealed what the new Z06's brings to the table!

Based on the sound heard in the video, the Z06 will get its power from a flat-plane crank V8, and it is more wicked and lethal than any other street-legal Corvette in history. When situated in the C8.R, the engine produces 500 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with a 6-speed sequential transmission. When it is dropped in the Z06 street car, it is expected to crank out 625 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque.

The redline is expected to hover around 9,000 RPM. There is also expected to be a wider stance overall, with rear fenders that are completely punched-out and cover extra-large 345 mm rear tires (40 mm larger than the C8 Corvette's 305 mm). The 2022 Z06 model has blown away many sports car enthusiasts with its high performance levels and luxury-status cabin.

The C8.R's inaugural season will come with a limited-edition appearance package inspired by the IMSA GTLM championship-winning competition version. Just 1,000 will be built, featuring the combination of Accelerate Yellow or Hypersonic Gray exterior paint with Carbon Flash colored mirror caps and rear spoiler. The iconic Corvette racing logo appears throughout the design, and the cabin is nicely done up in a yellow and grey matching scheme. Some of the coolest add-ons for the current-year Corvette are a wireless smartphone charging pad, heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a 14-speaker Bose stereo system, blind-spot monitoring, and more.

The 2022 Z06 model will also flaunt optional carbon-fiber wheels, and the latest version of GM's MRC 4.0 Magnetic Ride Control will handle damping duties. The existing C8 comes equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 that's good for 495 horsepower. Various reports also indicate the Z06 will have the active aerodynamics to effectively manage air and provide the highest possible amount of downforce when undergoing extreme and world-class acceleration!

Four Chevy Vehicles Snag Top Spots On Car And Driver's Editors’ Choice List

At Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis, we are frequently asked what high-ranking national publications have to say about our newest models. This year, we are proud to have scored top honors once again. Car And Driver selected four different Chevy models out of more than 400 total vehicles as part of their 2021 Editors' Choice list. These editors chose the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban as two of the year's best large SUVs, and the Camaro ZL1 along with the Corvette as two of the finest sports cars.

The 2021 Chevy Tahoe received a thorough redesign this year and received high marks for its sizable third row, increased interior space, and world-class quiet ride. Another trait that garnered attention is the Tahoe's ability to pull up to 8,400 pounds while debuting its fantastic independent rear suspension. It offers two V8 engines as well as the torquey diesel, and also flaunts an excellent array of driver-assistance options.

The 2021 Chevy Suburban received a refresh of its own for 2021, giving it even more cargo and passenger space than it had before. Consumers will marvel at how compact it feels and especially at the speedy and boisterous 6.2-liter V8. Be sure to check out the RST model: it's a sporty appearance package that can also be equipped with the diesel option and wickedly cool blacked-out exterior trim.

The 2021 Camaro ZL1 moves effortlessly courtesy of its 6.2-liter V8 and available 650 horsepower. Spellbinding performance on the track, amazing value, and overall performance are what makes this model wildly attractive for tried-and-true muscle fans. Perfecting the front engine rear-drive formula, this is a car that will forever muster up thrills for any driver.

The 2021 Chevy Corvette came out on top, even against some tough competition. This car is a home run for the general public, offering raw power and performance while also providing a great everyday drive. This year also saw the release of a limited edition appearance package inspired by the blisteringly fast IMSA GTLM championship-winning competition version.

Taking Weight Off Traveler's Shoulders: 2022 Chevy Traverse Will Now Include Standard Safety Assist Package

Existing on the larger side of things, the 2022 Chevy Traverse is lovin' summertime life here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis. A notch below the huge and hearty Suburban, the 2022 Traverse brings about a model refresh with updates to the styling and interior, as well as the high-tech capabilities of the Chevy Safety Assist package.

The Safety Assist Package includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, and IntelliBeam. The RS, Premier, and High Country trim levels also provide Adaptive Cruise Control and Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking. Last year's model did not have the Safety Assist Package with L and LS trim levels. You'll be able to roll up in style with an updated list of paint options including Northsky Blue Metallic, Silver Sage Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat replacing Graphite Metallic, Satin Steel Metallic, and Cajun Red Tintcoat.

The 2022 Chevy Traverse will be ready for production at GM Lansing Delta Township facility in Michigan in August, with units arriving to our dealership this fall. The engine offering is a 3.6-liter V6 option, which generates 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque sent to the front wheels. With comfortable seating for 7 or 8 passengers and an advantage over its rivals in cargo capacity, it appeals to families and active individuals who want a lot of “metal and space” for their money.

The towing capacity is 5,000 lbs, and the Kelley Blue Book team described the Traverse as “superbly comfortable and capable” after an extended test drive. There is also an 8-inch digital display as an available option in the instrument cluster. A new rear power sunshade is available, as well as a twin-panel sunroof to let the rays in as the miles go by.

The exterior size is nearly 10 inches longer than the Toyota Highlander, and the RS look is ideal for anyone searching for a sporty and aggressive boost in appearance. Subscription-based OnStar connect services with 4G LTE and in-vehicle Wi-Fi are available, and the Rear Camera Mirror enables the rearview mirror to now project a live view to drivers. One excited reviewer that had been driving her current model Traverse for two years claimed that the infotainment display, top-notch ride quality, and leather-appointed seats made her a fully guaranteed repeat buyer!
