The Evolution of the Corvette- Jim Butler Chevrolet

The Corvettes 60th anniversary is celebrating its evolution over the years, starting with the C1 all the way to the newest edition to the Corvette family, the C7. The Corvette has come a long way since its debut as just a concept car in 1953. With many improvements and style changes throughout the years, the Corvette continues to impress with new models.

The year of the C2 was a huge year for the Corvette in 1963. This was the first year the coupe was introduced, hideaway headlights were a new feature, and the Stingray name was born. Many Corvette enthusiasts consider the Stingray to be one the most beautiful cars ever made.

After 8 years, the Corvette brings out a totally one, the C7. The new 2014 C7 will have the Stingray name as well as many more impressive features and improvements.

Jim Butler Chevrolet to provide Fenton Athletic Association with new equipment, monetary contribution and instructional clinics

Fenton, 03/18/2013 – Jim Butler Chevrolet is partnering with the Fenton Athletic Association in Fenton.  Jim Butler Chevrolet has joined forces with the national Chevrolet Youth Baseball program to provide new equipment, a monetary contribution, invitations to FREE instructional clinics, and an opportunity for community members to enter the Free Chevrolet vehicle sweepstakes.

“Youth baseball provides positive and productive life lessons for young people across America, and the Chevrolet Youth Baseball program is an extension of Chevrolet’s commitment to baseball, community and families.  Jim Butler Chevrolet is bringing that same dedication to youth baseball,” said Brian Leith, the commercial sales manager for Jim Butler Chevrolet.

“There is nothing more American than Chevrolet and baseball and Jim Butler Chevrolet wants to combine America’s favorite brand and favorite pastime together for our families in Fenton to enjoy,” added Leith.

2013 marks Chevrolet’s Youth Baseball program’s eighth year, and since its introduction has helped aid local teams, affecting more than 3 million young people in communities where Chevrolet’s customers live, work and play.  In 2012, about 1,600 Chevrolet dealers participated across the country.

Jim Butler Chevrolet will present the Fenton Athletic Association with equipment kits with items including things like equipment bags, baseball buckets, practice hitting nets, umpire ball bags, batting tees and Chevrolet Youth Baseball T-shirts. The sponsorship also includes youth clinics featuring current and former MLB/MiLB players and coaches and instructors from Ripken Baseball.

In addition, Jim Butler Chevrolet will present a check representing a one-time monetary contribution to Fenton Athletic Association.  Sponsored leagues across the country will each receive 2,000 Free Sweepstakes Entry forms to distribute within the community.  At the end of the entry period, five winners – one from each region – will win their choice between a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu or Chevrolet Traverse. Each participating market will award a secondary prize.

In addition to its commitment to youth baseball, Chevrolet also is the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball™.

“Chevrolet vehicles are designed and built for families, so we hope young people and their parents will consider a Chevrolet as an official vehicle of their household,” said Leith.

2014 Chevy SS-Coming to Jim Butler Chevrolet

2014 Chevy SS is hitting the St. Louis streets hard!

Waited long enough? After 17 years, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevrolet is finally here! The Chevy SS will be available at Jim Butler Chevrolet, a top Chevy dealership in St. Louis.
What’s under the hood of the new Chevy SS is what really makes it special. The 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine produces 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That’s 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine expected to be in the C6 Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour “in about five seconds.”

This six-speed automatic comes to a stop with four-piston Brembo calipers up front, and a single sliding piston in back. The aluminum wheels are 19-inches all around, supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan’s weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.
On the inside is sleek leather seating surfaces, eight-way power front seats and soft- touch dash that are standard for a cabin to fit five adults. There will also be a marquee option that will be Automatic Parking Assist that can parallel and right-angle park. This technology will be the first time on a Chevrolet. Jim Butler Chevrolet can’t wait to finally have a Chevy performance sedan back in the model lineup at our location in Fenton, MO.
