GM Authority Will Spend Thrill-Packed Week With The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer

So many customers that see us during the Summer months here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis are looking for a crossover SUV: we fully recognize the popularity, accessibility, and practicality of this particular genre. The 2021 Trailblazer fills the slot between the Equinox and Trax in the newly revamped Chevy crossover lineup. The team on duty at GM Authority is set to spend a week with the top-of-the-line RS trim level boasting the attractive silver-gray hue officially called Satin Steel Gray Metallic. The cabin sported Jet Black with Red Accents and the two-tone configuration of the Mosaic Black Metallic roof.

The tester is powered by the turbocharged 1.3-L3T engine doling out 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, paired with the new GM 9-speed automatic transmission and AWD. If you want something just a touch less aggressive there are Trailblazer models with the turbocharged 1.2-L 1-3 LIH engine rated at 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. These models are available exclusively with the front-wheel-drive being commandeered by a Continuously Variable Transmission. The crew has just one day left until they finish their journey, and that is when they will report back with their thoughts on performance, handling, comfort, and value.

Much like the Blazer, the 2021 Trailblazer carries over with some of the Camaro-like exterior styling cues for a uniquely aggressive vibe. If jumping off the paved road and gravitating towards the wilderness and wetlands is what moves you, the Activ trim level prepares the Trailblazer for off-road use with the addition of specialized all-season tires, revised shock absorbers, and more in the ground clearance category due to a front fascia that has been reshaped. You'll also get to brandish roof rails on a two-tone roof. The Kia Soul and Jeep Renegade are two of the standout members in the competition lineup, and we feel that the Trailblazer's aggressive touches and longstanding namesake will render it worthy of longstanding battle.

Many that are in the market for a new vehicle that comes to talk to us have safety on the
mind as a major factor. Increasing traffic, distracted drivers, and intense migration to urban
areas have rendered some major thoroughfares as safety risks. This is another reason why so
many pick the Trailblazer: Automatic Emergency Braking detects if a collision may be approaching, and applies the brakes if you don’t yourself in time. Following Distance Indicator constantly displays the distance to the car in front and warns if you’re in the act of following too close. If you happen to be on the long haul and approaching the drowsy zone, it eases the car back in your lane if you drift.
