With the help of Jim Butler Chevrolet and Gateway180, boys and girls (ages 6-12) who live in Gateway180’s Water Tower Transitional Housing will get to participate in a free photography lesson focused on capturing hope. While their creativity is still flowing, Brad Sowers, Jim Butler Chevrolet’s own general manager and co-owner, will help Ms. Solomon surprise the kids with free professional-grade digital cameras. The young photographers then get to go on their first assignment, to express their own unique dreams by capturing the world around them.
The finishing touch will be to publish their photos as holiday greeting cards and sell to benefit Gateway180. It will be amazing to see the photographs that will be brought to life through their innocent eyes.
Ms. Solomon’s program enables children to build self-esteem, express their imagination, and change their lives through photography. Paul Edwards, U.S. Vice President of Chevrolet Marketing, attests to this, saying, “Working with ‘Pictures of Hope we are able to give kids the opportunity to see and photograph the hope and promise in the world around them to help build pride and self-esteem in their lives.”
